I just went to his ticket site and found that they still list several Kerasotes theaters, either to try to prove some odd point or to keep his numbers higher than they should be. Lefties are obsessed with numbers ( quantity always above quality ), provided they prove their point.

Not good so far. 40 vs 59.5. We need to bump this to the top of the list!

Freep this poll bump back to you:

http://www.miningjournal.net/

GKC has decided not to show Michael Moore's controversial anti-Bush movie "Fahrenheit 9-11". They stated it is inappropriate when our troops in the field should have the country's support. Do you agree or disagree with GKC's decision?

It's too bad this was posted on a Saturday night. We need more people....not moore people. Yuck, but I said it anyway.

Put it up as a "Freep this poll" post? I was tempted to yesterday, but I've got a dog in this fight - I'm a local. Do you think DU will catch wind of it if you post it?

I've been doing my part, but I still haven't figured out how the site is marking my computer as "already voted". It's not a cookie, because you can vote daily. Some sort of timestamp somewhere?

A lot of people are ticked off by the number of polls posted here on FR.

I'll just give this post a big ol' BUMP!

......(Moore's) ticket site.....still lists several Kerasotes theaters.........

We need an investigation into the underhanded tactics used to hype this film atrocity. Probably "creative accounting" procedures are being used to tally the take.

Any of the publicly-held companies connected with it----such as Lion's Gate, the distributor, and other Moore and Weinstein companies-----who might use false and misleading figures in financial reports to shareholders are subject to SEC oversight.

And if Moore and the Weinsteins claim to made XXXX amount of dollars, we need to know whether they are reporting these amounts to the IRS.

Of course, we know that in Follywood, there's numerous ways they fudge the figures so that even films taking in millions of profits are made to look like losers....so the Hollyweird wheelers and dealers won't have to pay off investors.

One notorious case involved actor Robert Wagner, an investor in an Aaron Spelling production, who ended up suing b/c Spelling cooked the books to stiff investors and keep all the profits for himself. (Spelling cultivates a reputation as a Hollyweird success story. Now we know why.)

Lastly, the modus operandi Moore used to finance the film could also be subject to US banking laws.

"Even if they don't like it, we should have the choice to be able to see it or not," said Brandon Young, writer of a petition against the decision in Marquette. "We should have the option to see it."

Does this dolt go to college at Marquette? Doesn't he know that neither a movie theater nor a Blockbuster is a not a library?

Does aforementioned dolt also recognize the fact that it would have been easier to just show the movie, avoid the controversy, rake in the dough, and feel secretly guilty about helping Michael MOOre divide the nation based on his lies and deceit?

I have a feeling that if the GKC chain had chosen to show the conspiracy-laden video The Clinton Chronicles on the big screen back in 1998, the Brandon Youngs of America would have protested that GKC promoted an irresponsible piece of "journalism."

The Lode Theatre in Houghton will show "Fahrenheit 9/11" daily for at least the next two weeks-the only theater in the Upper Peninsula currently doing so.

Oh great, the city we live near is the one exception.

["We have never not played a film based on content before," Jeffries said.]

Does that mean that they show kiddie porn and snuff flicks?

Grow up.

You grow up.

He made an unqualified statement that they have never before refused to play a film based on content. I was merely pointing out the fallacy of that statement, since there literally thousands of films that they have undoubtedly refused to play based on content.

It is a valid argumentative technique to point out the ridiculousness of an overbroad, unqualified statement by countering it with a ridiculous example.
