MEMRI reports the constant theme of Saudi television shows calls for the annihilation of Christians and Jews.
It's a good thing the Saudis are described by State Department officials as our strong allies in the Gulf. We wonder what Prince Bandar bin Sultan would think if our prime-time programming was as biased as what's being aired in his kingdom?
Here's what MEMRI translated Sheik Abdallah Al-Muslih, chairman of the Commission on Scientific Signs in the Koran and Sunnah of the Muslin World League, said about suicide bombers.
"Regarding a person who blows himself up, I know this issue is under disagreement among modern clerics and jurisprudence. There is nothing wrong with (martyrdom) if they cause great damage to the enemy. But, if we speak of what happens in Muslim countries, such as Saudi Arabia, this is forbidden, brothers. This is the land of the Muslims. We must never do this in a Muslim country."
While we may "pooh-paah" the U.S. government's security warnings, it might not be a bad idea to start taking the threat against us more seriously.
Prominent Saudi professors and preachers have been on Saudi Arabian T.V., predicting the U.S. will collapse ... and Islam will take over America.
Supporting jihad, or holy war, against U.S. troops in Iraq is a topic of many Saudi T.V. programs, according to MEMRI.
Dr. Yassin Al-Khatib, a professor of Islamic law at Um Al-Quara University, on May 10 was a guest of Al-Majd T.V. in the United Arab Emirates, a nearby neighbor of Saudi Arabia and also a U.S. ally.
He said, "The honor, blood, property and mostly the fact that they entered (Iraq) make it every Muslim's duty to go out against them, not only the Iraqis. This is every Muslim's duty. Jihad today has become an individual duty that applies to each and every Muslim."
Al-Khatib even predicted the collapse of America. He said, "When the Muslims fought in Afghanistan, they destroyed the Soviet Union, which was a superpower. It collapsed, and Allah willing, so will the (United States)."
