Appreciate the comments... regarding the dead HD?

I make a habit of cloning the drives on my main and backup PC's at home- all you need is software from ( one ) of the drivemakers and an old drive big enough to hold all your files. Besides saving your data, it's a fast way to get up and running again after disaster strikes-
