Is there a possibility that this guy is filipino?
We had quite a bit of discussion about this guy and the other "odd" diver stories that were about that time. I imagine if you go through the thread from that time (February) you would find the discussion. No small task, I know, digging back through the thread. The problem with the "mystery" diver stories was there was so little, if any, follow up in the media; as usual.
>>>Is there a possibility that this guy is filipino?
I read news reports that there was a filipino ship in the area at the time of this diver. I have no idea if it is related. The Philapines have a major problem with Islamic extremists too.
That was my first thought the first time I saw the composite in the local newspaper. If I recall correctly, LEO subsequently ID'ed him and he had a Hispanic name, but I don't recall that they ID'ed his country of origin. (I posted the link many thousands of posts ago.) The Philippines remains a real possibility. Also, a few days after he showed up in the Hudson River, a ship from the far east exploded off the coast of Va. That ship originated in the far east (Malaysia, I think), and one of her last port of calls before the explosion was Albany, NY, which is about 100 miles up river from where this guy was found. My theory is that when that ship was traveling down the Hudson River to the NY Harbor and eventually the Atlantic Ocean, this guy dropped off the ship when it slowed to pass through the Hudson Highlands area (near West Point), which is only a few miles north of the Indian Point Nuke Facility.
