FBI urges vigilance for July 4
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

You can say that again!
All:
BTW, our beloved Cindy is the one who stopped my heart with the finding of the al-ansar.net change.
Interesting. The author actually makes it sound like, thanks to Khan, AQ has the capability ot producing its own nukes (with help of black market material).
i'm honestly not trying to TROLL or stir up trouble, but would i be out of place in suggesting that sometimes certain events are simply as they seem, or, at the very least, not CONCLUSIVELY related to terrorism?
i'm asking this honestly. if this is not the forum to do so, i won't make any posts like that
All opinions are welcome here. I would agree that sometimes I spend 20 minutes wading through posts like "There's a fire in Philadelphia" or "a train crash in Tucson" and it may not seem terrorist related.
I have posted some EOM messages here recently. The reason I do so is there is a lot of disinformation put out there by the like of EOM and Daleel and months later people remember the things they've said without remembering the disreputable source. For instance, it was EOM who said London would be hit first. I think it's important we know what these guys are saying so we can evaluate what is relevant.
right, and all i meant with relation to that is that IMHO it shouldn't be written as necessarily coming from the mouth of al qaeda. because EOM said that doesn't mean they won't hit us first, nor does it necessarily mean "The plan is to hit london first"
that's all
Who are they going to nuke back? Iraq? With all the US and their own soldier there?
By MICHAEL WEISSENSTEIN ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER NEW YORK -- A New Jersey gas station owner was sentenced Friday to the maximum of five years in prison for lying to FBI agents about his ties to a Yemeni sheik who prosecutors say raised money for al-Qaida.
Numan Maflahi, a Yemeni-born U.S. citizen, told agents that he had limited contact with Sheik Abdullah Satar and no involvement in Satar's fund raising for al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden.
But prosecutors said FBI agents had watched as Maflahi "spent almost every waking hour" with Satar during a 1999 trip to New York, arranging his speaking engagements at mosques, driving him to appointments and helping collect and hold money.
The terrorism tie brought Maflahi, 31, an unusually stiff sentence for lying to the FBI, which ordinarily would carry a maximum six-month sentence.
"The proof here is overwhelming that the defendant was lying about facts relevant to the investigation of a federal crime of terrorism," U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon said.
Maflahi's attorney, Hassen Abdellah, argued that tie was unproven, because Satar has not been indicted in the United States and the charity he was raising money for, the Charitable Society for Social Welfare, has not been designated a terrorist organization.
Abdellah told the judge he planned to appeal, but declined to comment as he left court.
"Terror doesn't need to be actual physical, but is psychological."
You might want to save that one for a future tagline. The terrorists are extremely cognizant of that fact. They are also of the very strong belief that terrorism, physical or psychological, has a "cleansing" effect on infidels.
In other words, "It's a good thing."
I agree. Any information that comes from "EOM" or "Daleel" should be sourced. I believe I have done this in all my posts. In fact, in one I made the disclaimer "I know this should be taken with a huge pinch of salt, considering the source".
I probably said that the wrong way. Many are reacting the same way I did when I first was told about it. "NO WAY!"
Look at the events before you do that, however. Look back over the last 6-8 weeks at the number of train derailments, and compare that to the previous average. Look at things like the removal of track pieces. Is that what it seems?
Power outages, and the way they are reported. Bolts missing from the bases of HV transmission towers. Insulators "failing".
You may think that it's an over reaction, but you're going to have to accept that we are all (to a degree) looking at EVERYTHING. There is a lot of information that has been discounted, but also a lot that hasn't.
my point really was that there is SO MUCH information from so many sources that if we're going to do the best possible job we can, it behooves us to seperate the wheat from the chaff in terms of what we hear and see. all warnings and events are not created equal.
i'd hope that the forum understands i've made these comments in the spirit of cooperation.
It's ok glad to have you WELCOME!
Some of us are on here day and night and emoitons get fired up. We get lots of news before we know all the details and when this is on your mind all the time is gets scary.
It may not look like it but we are all working together and get excited when we find something.
To quote a movie "He was just a little high strung."
My guess would be- Camp David for Sunday---or possibly even Site R (unless Cheney is already there)
That would be a nice, Cindy. There is no meta for authorship in the source. Hard to tell one way or the other.
I hope you are right!
Optimism is always a good thing.
i agree with absolutely everything you've written. however, i don't think that merits an immediate "oh god, they're hitting the trains/whatever" every time we hear something like that.
I hope you didn't sign up today just to come and pee in our Wheaties.
