Need feet on the ground. I bet the track was sabotaged.
Thanks for that post. It all the more confirms the
document that SP2BP translated.
I hope we get an update soon. The article doesn't say if this is currently happening; I am assuming it is still in progress. The Feds must be looking for someone/something on that train unless there was a phone threat made. I wonder if grafitti was invoved like last week's train on the east coast.
oceanview, did you see freeperfromnj's post #2016 about the Turkish gas station owners' tax cheating and human smuggling? Another case where the DHS had to get involved on LI. I hear these stories and then they fade from attention with no followup.
Thanks for the post but I am going to open it up here
so we can read it.
"Two Chicago Bound Amtrac Trains stopped in Wisconsin"
July 6, 2004 (Portage, Wisconsin) Two Amtrak trains heading to Chicago have been stopped because of a police investigation.
It happened near the town of Portage, Wisconsin, which is north of Madison.
The trains involved are the Empire Builder number 8 from Seattle, and number 28 from Portland.
The two trains meet in Spokane and head into Chicago together.
All of the passengers were taken off the trains and boarded chartered buses to continue their trip to Chicago.
There is no word yet on what caused police to stop the trains.
Had to be a track problem. Obviously not a passenger prob or train prob.
I hope you were not offended by my post. I just kind of got the idea that you liked a little Razzling humor.
I'm absolutely not offended, because I have NO IDEA what you are referring to. :)

Maybe a meeting place to put together explosives so they can blow up the Hanford nuclear site?
Here's a link showing the prevailing winds and fallout pattern from the Hanford site.

Saudis freed Britons in a secret swap of prisoners
By Andrew Buncombe and Kim Sengupta
05 July 2004
Six Britons convicted on terrorism charges in Saudi Arabia were released last year as part of a secret three-way deal in which the US set free a number of Saudi prisoners being held at Guantanamo Bay. The deal was brokered to obtain Saudi support for the invasion of Iraq.
Diplomatic and intelligence sources have confirmed to The Independent that the Britons, convicted of a fatal car-bombing, were released last August after the US returned five Saudi prisoners, at least two of whom were believed to have trained in al-Qa'ida camps.

Thanks for the link grizzfan. Comforting isn't it?
Yup. One train originating from Portland, OR the other from Seattle. Both cities thick with muslims.
LOL! Don't apologize for speaking the truth.
WASHINGTON American and Iraqi joint patrols, along with U.S. Special Operations (search) teams, captured two men with explosives in Baghdad on Monday who identified themselves as Iranian (search) intelligence officers, FOX News has confirmed.
Senior officials said it was previously believed that Iran had officers inside Iraq stirring up violence, but this is the first time that self-proclaimed Iranian intelligence agents have been captured within the country.
The Defense officials also confirmed to FOX News that in recent days there has been significant success in tracking down "known bad guys" based on information from local citizens. While those captured aren't from the list of former regime members or from terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's (search) network, they are "active" bombers and organizers of recent violence.

You and me both Oorang. Gone are the days when if we wanted to go somewhere we just made the reservation and went. Now if we have the urge to travel, unless it is an emergency, we drive. Until our government and our airlines become savvy like El Al, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
