I assume you do realize that we fought two wars against the communist and were involved in a few others with that aim in mind. Those who say Reagan won the cold war with firing a shot are ignoring history. Showing we were willing to fight in little Grenada, support resistance in Afghanistan and Nicaragua, and the thing that pushed the Soviets over the edge: Their equipment and doctrine being utterly destroyed in Iraq (yes, that Iraq).

Lets not forget our 2nd major attempt, you know, the one where we lost our nerve and had a bunch of winnies writing pieces in the NY Times.
