I was just thinking of the Stepford Husbands thing. My best friend works while her husband takes care of the house and homeschools their son. It's a benefit for all of them.
I think many women have gotten to the point where they consider cooking, doing the laundry, tidying up around the house, and so on, as demeaning. It's hard to overcome that even when they know that it's just something that needs to be done as a participating member of the household.
