The Canadian election is today. If the most recent polls are correct, the Conservative Party of Canada may win more seats in Canada's House of Commons, setting the stage for a Conservative minority government. A new day may be dawning in Canada. But the election is going to be close.
Please use this thread for any early election articles that pop-up over the course of the day, predictions and news analysis, and, of course, the actual results as they come in.

Oh well, any developments on the Scott Peterson case?
Blah, the way the medical system in Canada is messed up, may as well be soiclaised.
Where in the spectrum does the NDP fit ? Left of Libs ?
Canada seriously needs a real upper house not the one appointed with political cronies. Germany would be a good example with the upper house representing the party in power in that state. If I was in Canada I would be sick and tired of national policy being set by the citizens on one province. It would be like NY and CA deciding national issues.
NDP = Socialists.
In US terms, they're out there with Dennis Kucinich.
I didn't even interpret it as a typo. I figured it was some kind of dumbed-down lefty spelling.
The NDP and Liberals, need to secure two more of the close seats. It appears like a left minority government.
What's his story?

The only conclusion you can draw from the election is the vast majority Canadians are attached to socialism and anti-Americanism. Its not really calling it a stretch to say Michael Moore would win in most of Canada in a landslide.
Watch the Lib+NDP sum...
If it doesn't pass the 155 mark, not everything has been lost, but if it goes over 155, it's done.

The only thing that might bring them back from the brink would be if they had their own 9/11.
But I wonder if they would respond like the Spaniards. Got lots of in-laws in Canada and they just don't see things the way we do.
I really get the impression that they feel like we're (Americans in general) the unsophisticated, poor relation that just doesn't know any better than to elect a cowboy and go to war to protect our homeland rather than trying to "get along." Someone to be looked down on and pitied.
Yet when I talk to them about their taxes, medical care (waiting months for an MRI, etc.), they're not happy.
CTV says 153
CTV winners/leaders just reached 155 for the left
Only in Canada can Leftist parties hold three quarters of the seats in Parliament. That is, if you add the Liberals, NDPers, and Bloc together. They all pretty much believe in the state as a religion.
This is becoming a conservative's worst nightmare --- a Liberal government with a boost from the NDP, pulling it further to the left.
