That explains why those of us in Madison or Milwaukee Wisconsin didn't feel it, it occured on a fault line that only extends in IL.

When the Exon plant blew here in Baton Rouge a few years back everybody went outside and all thought their hot water heaters had terminally burped.

Cultural Jihad,
I was living in Stanislaus County, 90 miles east of San Francisco. 90 south of Sacramento.
Was at my mom' house. The house was rocking like a ship at sea. Dishes fell from the cupboards.

I'm fairly close to Madison and we felt it. It has happened (infrequently) before, usually too mild to be felt.

Ahh OK.....Didn't feel a thing, although I didn't really notice it. Perhaps since I'm on the second floor of a 2 story apartment building has something to do with it.

This is small fault and it does not shake very often and they say it will not produce a quake any larger than a 5.0
Do a Google on Sandwich Fault to find out more about it. (Sandwich, IL is around it somewhere and that is how it got the Sandwich name)
To: Watery Tart
I might just do that, seeing as how I am in the capitol of this great state. :) LOL
