For the record, I just went to that site and put in the name of my brother-in-law. 2 records were returned, one denoting him as a military.com member, the other from DoD records. I have to say the DoD record is woefully out of date, because it says he is an E-4, and he is (or was, he just got out) an E-6 or E-7.

Thank you for clarifying.. Another FReeper looked up someone who had been in the military many many years, and they didn't show up. It's very odd because I looked up a few hundred last year (related to casualties) and they all showed up, current and registered to the correct branch of service.

I did just read on the FNC ticker that this missing Marine may have deserted his unit last month, if it was the same person.
