The leftwingnuts are ignorant, anti-American addicts - don't expect them to "learn". They "support" anything that hurts America.

Note: I did not say "elitists" - there is nothing elite about those that hate America and feel she should be punished. They don't deserve to live in this fine country.

doesnt matter what korea does, when the iraqis take control they will not be as nice as us, then when any problems arise we will back them. the endgame is close at hand.

That's what I'm hoping for. Then Michael Moore can try to go over there and 'expose' the nasty Iraqi government for being so mean to those 'freedom fighters'. At least I'd like to see him TRY to do that! ;o)

The Korean War was a little before my time. Seriously I didn't even realized they had a standing army anymore. Care to share some info, so I can smile at what's coming after the terrorists?

They are at war with their closest neighbor. They'd better have a standing army.

South Korean "Invincible Marines" and CT units

I can't help but wonder how many murders of innocent people is required before the leftwingnuts understand the nature of this enemy.

The Left is part of the enemy. Think of the pro-Soviet activities it conducted during the Cold War, and then fast forward to the seditious nature of our media and the Dem'Rat Party circa 2004, and now Hezbollah's willingness to help distribute Michael Moore's latest tripe in the Middle East.

I have felt that the Arab in the street is so unable to reason the situation out himself is because Al Jajeera casts such a slanted view (to say the least). As long as this continues, the shopkeeper will be our enemy. I don't give them much credit, do I?
On another note, I went to your "about" page and have been reading for the last 30 minutes. It was compelling and now bookmarked for more reading. One paragraph I particularly liked and gave new insight to the prison "scandal" was as follows~~"Bush's contrition only rubs salt into the wounds to Arab pride. Not only are these jihadis reduced to naked, groveling miserables -- in front of the world, and without a mark on them -- but we act like it didn't even require effort."

It's getting to the point every foreign worker will have to be outfitted with a cyanide tablet...

That actually might do the trick. Sure beats getting your head sawed off. And it would put an end to the sensational videos these guys like putting together...

UNpopular reply, I am sure...
I would not want to lose Al- jezeera's view. The reason we are in this whole mess in the FIRST place, is the Mid east thinks we don't " get them" and their views. I was always taught " keep your friends close, and your enemies closer"
I think what they broadcast is sick, and for ratings only. I would ask, that people see their side, to a POINT also. If we don't understand the enemy...Then we will lose this war. WE do, have to think like they do, Hence, We need to see what they think. Getting Po'ed at Al Jazeera everytime the B*stards kill a hostage will not give us an edge.we NEED the information.......

Anyone here recall a device called " ENIGMA" ???
I would rather have too much information, than not enough....

Mama

The 707th uses a wide variety of foreign and locally produced weapons. Pistols include the Colt .45 and the Daewoo 9mm, Berretta M9 9mm. The HK MP-5 is now used as a submachine gun for assaults. Both the Daewoo K1 and K2 assault rifles are used, albeit modified for assaults with the addition of forward pistol grips and in some cases low-light and night vision devices. Modified M- 60E3's and and K3 Beltfed are used for machine gun support. For rearguards a Tactical a Benelli Super-90 shotgun with pistol grips is used For light sniping the HK PSG-1 and M-24 7.62mm rifles have been used, heavier sniping needs are cause for the M-40 .50 and RAI .50 caliber weapon to be broken out. The 707th provided security for VIPs and for key facilities during the 1986 Asian Games and during the 1988 Olympics. At both events, terrorist attacks were considered to be a real danger. The 707th's soldiers – distinguished by their black berets – are assigned urban counterterrorist missions. They also constitute a quick-reaction unit for other kinds of emergencies and special-warfare requirements in wartime. In addition to working with special Korean counterterrorist police units, the 707th also trains with special units from the United Kingdom, United States, Israel and Australia.

Thank you so much for that link. They sound like a real bunch of asskickers and name takers. They will not take Mr. Kim's murder lying down.

Jeeez, I forgot about North Korea. Duuuuh....

I picked this little tidbit out of a pro commie fluff piece at a website I stumbled across. It might be helpful for those who don't know how the Koreans work, maybe give you a little insight into what the Islamo-Fasciasts are in for. Hope you enjoy it.

"The first RoK infantry units arrived in Binh Dinh on February 26, 1965. Later on, RoK army strength reached the highest number of more than 47,000 troops, in two divisions, a separate brigade, and their supporting units. They were the Capital or "Tigers" Division, the 9th or "White Horse" Division, and the 2nd or Blue Dragon Marine Brigade.

Each was given a Tactical Area of Responsibility where it was responsible for fighting the enemy by their own initiatives and decisions. The Tigers was deployed in Binh Dinh and part of Quang Ngai provinces, the White Horse in Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa, and the Blue Dragon in Quang Nam province.

RoK troops were champions in close combat, renowned in the Vietnam War for their bold ambushes. The Koreans were considered one of the two best combat forces in the Vietnam War. The other was the Australians. Korean commanders were tough and authoritarian under the eyes of the Vietnamese who still remembered how rigid the discipline of the Japanese army had been in 1941-45. A major might beat, slap a captain, a captain might do the same to a lieutenant, and so on...

In their areas of responsibility, curfews were strictly enforced. A person -Vietnamese or Korean - going out at night without a lamp was to commit suicide.

Once a Popular Force (PF, village militia) squad moved about 50 yards into the Korean side of the railway tracks assigned as a boundary between the two areas of responsibility. The Korean troops opened fire without challenging and killed all the Vietnamese squad, whom they mistook as communist guerrillas, in order to have total surprise.

There had been several incidents in which innocent peasants were slain by Korean troops. Documents of those cases kept in the former ARVN Headquarters archives might have been destroyed by the communists after Saigon fell, but could still exist somewhere in the US Army archives.

The following well-known cases are related from memory of many Vietnamese.

Once an RoK battalion on the way of operation captured half dozen communist soldiers. They asked the local PF squad in a village to detain the enemy prisoners so that they could go on without bringing them along, and they would pick them up on the way back. The PF men all agreed and promised to do the best.

A few days later when the Koreans returned to pick up the VC prisoners, the village PF squad said that all the prisoners had escaped. After a short investigation indicating that the militia had either neglected their duty or deliberately let the VC prisoners free, the Koreans executed all the PF squad on the spot.

The massacre reported in the Hankyere might be the same incident that many Vietnamese heard in 1966. The rumor ran that in an operation, the Korean troops encountered strong fire from the communist unit in a village. The Korean unit encircled the village, sealed off all possible escape routes. They used megaphones to warn civilians to get out of their village in a given time or get killed when the Koreans came in.

After the deadline, the Koreans launched a fierce attack and seized the objective in a short time. In their search throughout the village, the Koreans shot to kill every single moving creature they met. According to the rumor, more than 300 peasants - old and young women and men, children - were massacred, plus several scores of enemy troops that mingled with the villagers.

News of the massacre quickly spread far and wide, and from then on, communist units dared not use villagers as their human shields against the Korean force. Some Koreans said that both sides in Korea had been doing the same during the Korean War.

The savage tactic proved effective, as security was maintained considerably in the Korean Force's TAORs. Even thieves were scared off from the area."

I am by no means am stupid........and I am highly informed. One only needs to read history, To note this is why most wars start. the old " you have what I want " or We are bigger and better than you, and through blood, we will convince you we are right" Apply here also. I don't like ANY of this, I am scared to death for our future generations. But, they think they are right, thats a a VERY tough cause to fight. I also note, that as a democratic society, we are much more appalled then the muslim/arab society is. WE find beheading barbaric, and it IS....But to them, this is how you fight a war. They have beheaded people for centuries. The USA, being a good socity, finds this behavior abhorent...THEY find it common place, Hence, No major " shock factor" from the Arab world.
My initial thread was I would not want to lose Al Jazeera, as it gives us some insight as to what they are thinking.
I do not condone nor like them... I am saying that some information is better than no information at all.

"You assume, incorrectly, that these people are not being watched."

Convince me otherwise since I see no evidence of what you assume. When we stake out people here and watch them, we get the bad guys. WHY aren't they getting the bad guys. Also, WHY isn't the news agency being charged. They are enabling this freaks with their gruesome videos. They know dam well WHO is dropping these tapes off.

Thanks for the links. I'm wondering which email address to use. Probably the Consular link.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm writing this to express our heartfelt sadness towards Mr. Kim's family, and the Korean people in general. Americans have been rocked in past weeks by the similar murders of Mr. Berg, and more recently Mr. Johnson. May Mr. Kim's family be comforted by the knowledge that he was an honorable man who put himself in danger to help support the demise of an evil regime.

America and the Republic of Korea have been allies for many years. We welcome any military support you can provide to help rid this world of murderous assassins.

Once again, our sympathies to Mr. Kim's family.

Sincerely,

____________________________________________________________

I hope that was ok.

Actually, the left is more than a part of the enemy, they are the propagandist that have been working against the US for well over 50 years. Using Russia, North Vietnam, Cuba, China, Somalia, Iraq as instruments to bring down capitalism and freedom in America. The communists in this country created the unrest in the 60's and they are using the same techniques now.

Not really a naysayer, just a realist....based on past proven performance. A good bud of mine (US Marine) is over there now in Bagdad. The basic consensus among his troops is basically get all coalition forces out of there and level the place and start over. I cannot use the language that he has used in his emails to me, but to sum it up politely, there's not one man, woman or child over there who's worth one drop of American blood. He's over there, I'm here, so I figured I'd just take his word for it.

i see your point i am in oceanside and employ 5 marines most were deployed in both iraq and afghanistan and one has that opinion also. the bottom line is no one is goign to glass the place over and we won't be the ones dropping the hammer on the bad guys. i think what is pissing everyone off is everyone knows the iraqis are going to do what we wish our military would. it is easier for them to have the blood of collateral damage on their hands. the bottom line is everyone was saying the same things about afghanistan a year or so ago they are saying about iraq now. that has worked out and so will this.
