Simple yes or no poll, please respond:
Being from Southern California, third generation, which is almost unheard of at my age unless your heritage goes back to the days of Spanish Rule, I have felt the current situation regarding illegal immigration has reached a head, not just here, but across the Country in every major city. I want to find out how others feel about the importance of this subject, or if it is still only a concern in the border states.
Do you feel the number of illegal immigrants in this Country is a major problem?
Please answer with yes or no and list your city or State before adding additional comments.
Thanks
YES (Washington State. .....although a CA native).
No.
Middlesex County, NJ.
YES. Cincinnati,Oh.
I work in immigration law. Let me tell you, it is zero surprise to find out that a potential client has no status (aka illegal). And I don't even work with Mexicans, all my clients are African, Asian, and Eastern European. Those three groups don't even have an open border they can simply walk across, yet they can enter the country without inspection a rather astonishing percentage of the time.
To be fair, I should add that the incredibly slow and unreliable process for applying for a visa, regularly mismanaged by CIS (Citizenship and Immigration Services), provides a strong disincentive to getting legal papers before entering.
And of course every time I get in a taxi, should I mention my job, I spend the rest of the trip giving immigration advice.
YES
I realize but hope to get a national sample. Care to answer?
May I ask your city or state?

Interesting but I don't want to misconstrue your answer, is that a yes, and from what city or state?
