What I want to know is.....Why is the US not acting fast enough and getting these hostages out??? We know these ingrates are going to kill him so sitting around discussing it is not the way to go.
These people are over there on their own free will. The Saudis are not our friends.
Honestly, what could the US have done? There can be little doubt that his "captors" were acting with the protection of some powerful forces in Saudi Arabia. Really, what were we supposed to have done? For every member of the S.A. government who wants to help us, there is one that wants to hurt us.
We can't find kidnapped people here in the US before they are killed..You think it's easier in a foreign country? Surely you realize that..Recall Elizabeth Smart..she was finally recognized after many months.
From what I hear, it was up to the Saudi's to try to find Paul. Since it's on Saudi's land, and since Saudi is supposed to be supporters of ours, they were responsible to try and rescue Paul. But........the security in Saudi for situations such as this is not good. They can secure their own Kings, etc, but in situations like this, they can't do anything. Doesn't make sense to me.
Also, all American's have been highly advised to leave Saudi. But they say this is not feasible. The American's are doing a lot of important work with the oil and just can't pick up and leave. If I worked over there, and could not leave, I would make sure my family got back to the states.
