[history]
The abuse of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib jail came about with the introduction of methods used at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba that treated detainees ``like dogs,'' Brigadier General Janis Karpinski said in an interview with the BBC.

Can you believe the nerve of this disgusting officer? She's blaming U.S. policy for what happened on her watch. She is an absolute disgrace.

Thank the US Army and their LOWERED standards for producing this steaming pile of camel crap. She isn't fit to cut the Irish Pennants from Patton's uniform.

Rita Cosby was at Guantanamo recently and said everything looked okay to her. Detainees were reading, praying and even playing chess and checkers. They supposedly picked that cell area at random. As much as I dislike Rita Cosby I believe her over Gen. Karpinski. Gen. Karpinski was fit to oversee a quilting bee let alone a prison.

Should have proof read. I meant that Gen. Karpinski was NOT fit to oversee a quilting bee let alone a prison.

She neglects to mention the insubordination of her charges also......she only discusses the prison abuse, not the frolicking by her soldiers....

The Dems put her up to this, you can bet your arse. The Dems thought the Aba Dabba Doo prison fraternity prank (read abuse) scandal would be the end of Bush. It did some damage to be sure, but the Dems were not content to stop there. They want to directly connect the President to this. Therein lies the problem, there is no direct connection.
OK, then where did they go from there? They started to hear about memo's etc. relating to the treatment of Al Queda suspects and other high level terror targets. To be sure, the Geneva conventions DO NOT APPLY to these people. But in order to be able to score their political points, the Dems have to pretend that they do and then some, i.e. that every one of these poor victims of Bush (read Al Queda Terrorists) should get an ACLU lawyer.
A few of the many things disgusting about this are:
1)The Dems are always quick to point out that Iraq is not the War on Terror, i.e. combating Al Queda. Yet, when a memo regarding how far to go with Al Queda prisoners comes forth, suddenly the War in Iraq is part of the War on Terror. Well, which is it, are they part of the same conflict or aren't they?
2) Sen. Biden grandstanding about what happens to his son if he is captured etc. etc. Here is what happens Senator, your son gets killed or tortured, REGARDLESS OF HOW WE TREAT AL QUEDA PRISONERS. Except now, they get to make a big stink about it and score propaganda points. Congrats Senator, Al Queda thanks you.
3) The Dems truly are aligned with Al Queda. The Dems have positioned it so as to score politically when Al Queda succeeds. Here is the kicker, the Dems are helping Al Queda. As this race gets nastier, I hope that a Republican Org. akin to Moveon.org starts aggressively pointing that out. Why not, they call Conservatives the Taliban. Fair is fair.

In this very interview with the BBC about US policy, General Karpinski admits that she was, in effect, taking orders from a lower-ranking officer. Of course, giving the interview itself is a separate violation of military regulations.
As I have written before, this so-called officer was derelict in her command for not knowing and controlling what went on among her subordinates. A general officer of the US Army should not whine and complain. Instead, he/she should either do the job competently or accept the consequences.
Karpinski is a disgrace to the uniform which she still (unfortunately) wears. Did I miss anything?

If they had any reasons for not cashiering this incompetent general they are now gone. She should be brought up on charges for failing to maintain discipline in her unit. As I understand it there is ample evidence.

Anyone ever hear what brand of perfume she was caught stealing from the PX? It may become a fashion item.
