Ok folks. One of my soldiers would like me to send him hiphop music. Unfortunately (nah fortunately), I don't know anything about that genre. Any recommendations????

(Sad commentary when NYT, Washington Post, Chgo Trib, etc. are left of the Old Soviet Guard.)

Well I am no expert but one of the very first rap tunes was a very long one called Rappers Delight by Sugarhill gang. It's from 1979. I never paid much attention to the lyrics but I found it something of a toe tapper. Certainly had disco hints to it as well. This is to some extent where it all began. Lyrics can be found here http://www.bus.miami.edu/~ldouglas/house/shill/rd.html

Any recommendations????Pat Boone did a wretched album of heavy metal covers some years ago called "In a Metal Mood". Perhaps he could do the same thing with rap; "In a Gangsta' Groove".
