Mike Reagan turned me off with his "I'm going to heaven" line. Arrogant. Only God decides who goes to Heaven.

Michael Reagan has a Saviour. He knows where he is going.

Do you?

No, that's not true at all. Christians know they're going to Heaven.

It should not turn you off it is standard Protestant Doctrine. Evangelical Protestants believe you can have an assurance of salvation.

You can have assurance of salvation. You can't earn it, it is a gift.

"Arrogant" to believe Christ's own promise to ALL of us?

Only God decides who goes to Heaven.

That is true, but He also has revealed to us how we may KNOW that we have eternal life with Him:

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" - John 11:25-26

"And this is the record, that God hath given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that beileve on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life." 1 John 5:11-13

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

You are letting your lack of Bible knowledge show. Anyone, yes even you , if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is going to heaven. Read up man.

Yes, God decides who goes to Heaven...and explained it very clearly in His Word, including John 3:16. There is nothing arrogant about Michael saying he's going to Heaven. Michael simply trusts in the truth of God's Word.

It was a lovely speech.

The Bible says that if you believe in Christ, you will be saved. Being saved includes Heaven. From that, I conclude that since I believe in Christ, I will go to Heaven.

Where are I and Mr. Reagan wrong about that?

"I'm going to heaven" is not arrogant. God does not choose who accepts his gift of enternal life. The choice is yours and yours alone.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life...

He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God...

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord..

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved...

No, you are wrong anyone who is saved knows that he is going to heaven. If you don't know where you are going when you die, I reccommend that you sit down and make a determination one way or the other. If you didn't like Michael's statement, it can only mean that you are not a believer.

That wasn't arrogant. That's how Christians believe. If one believes in Jesus Christ he/she believes they are going to heaven. Unless of course you're a TULIP-type.

Mike Reagan turned me off with his "I'm going to heaven" line. Arrogant. Only God decides who goes to Heaven.

On several occasions, Christ castigated his followers for giving into fear of death. To Christ, it showed they lacked faith in his promise of eternal life.

In other words, if you are to follow him, Jesus demands that you believe in eternal life.

Mike is a follower of Jesus, and by saying that he is going to heaven, he is merely following what Jesus demanded of him.

There is not an arrogant bone in Michael's body and if anyone is going to heaven, he surely will.
