My heart breaks to think of them being separated for eternity after so many close years here on earth.
I take heart, though, because I have a friend whose father was saved 3 weeks before he died last November. At his funeral, the Gospel was preached throughout.
Her Mom was saved the next day, saying that she didn't want to be where her husband is isn't. She was baptized on Easter!
We can pray the same for Nancy.

And, a bit radical perhaps here, and I wouldn't want to teach it as a doctrine. . . . but
God said those who seek Him will find Him. Perhaps even at the point of death some will be given an opportunity to accept Christ. NOT something one should count on by a million miles.
AND
There's the Scripture about what we forgive on earth will be forgiven in Heaven--something to that effect. So, In such situations, I certainly proclaim forgiveness over such people and Ask God to give them every opportunity repeatedly to accept Christ as their Savior.
And, I know from God's character and values, He's looking for Biblical reasons to save people, not excuses to damn them.
I think she has a strong faith. Just not so strong and outspoken on the pro-life issues that President Reagan was.
