Alot of dignataries are now showing up to pay respects. McCain, Guiliani, Gorby, Karzai, etc.
Cspan has live coverage. Bush expected at 7 but could be earlier? He is then going to visit with Mrs. Reagan.
Guard changes about every half hour at .28 and .58 of the hour. One is going on right now.
Last night they were moving 3,000 per hour. They've been at 5,000 per hour since this morning. If they push it a little more maybe 200,000 people or more will be able to pay their respects at the Capitol.
I'm glad you found the pictures. There was a terseness about the Bushes' visit. From the expression on his face, I think (and so do others here) that GW was fighting off an emotional moment. The eulogy he delivers tomorrow may be tough for him at various levels. I would think that C-Span will reshow their visit, although it might be much later.
I had heard earlier that 5000 an hour....is that possible?
welcome back, hope you stay awhile.
I don't know if anyone has answered your question, but I remember one of the media outlets saying that Ford probably wouldn't even make the service on friday because he's not in very good health. Betty Ford is expected to attend the service.
As for Jimmy Carter, I don't think he's made it through the line. But I could be wrong.
5000 per minute
300000 per hour (60 minutes times 5000 per minute)
7,200,000 THEORETICAL POSSIBLE in 24 hours.
at 3am i saw zero on c-span.
If cspan suddenly breaks their live feed again to go to a repeat of an earlier visit, please let me know. I would appreciate it.
10,000 since when????????????????
Surely not since yesterday
I have one comment make...the picture of Bush at Reagan's casket that appears right now on Drudge will be famous. Look at the composition of the Continental Congress portrait and also the crowd...a collection of military men and regular Americans.
It glows.
Ford said he will be there.
LOL...CNN is wrong as usual....10,000..in their dreams.
The other day I was in southern Arkansas and saw an old man driving an old El Camino and wondered to myself if that could be the old car Clinton was bragging about. They are the ugliest of vehicles.
az....they just did a replay of the President and Laura's visit (and others).....so maybe they will again later....say after 5 hours or so? (That's a guess)
try 5000-10,000 per hour (not minute)
Some very powerful mojo going on there..
thank you for the picture of Japanese Prime Minister signing the guestbook. I have the exact photo of Ronald Reagan. While I was in the Army Reserve in 1989, I asked if I can have the photo of Ronald Reagan on the wall. President George H Bush was sworn in and the reserve unit had yet to update the chain of command photos. The Sergeant Major said yes. I have cherished that photo eversince, and kinda knew that it special. I think it is the official military photo.
trying for max possible.
240000 per 24 hours. MAX THEORETICAL POSSIBLE
how many hours is the total lying in state time?
And this time Ray will be able to see him.
That's because they won't open their opens to see what is right in front of their faces
He was a great man and a great president .. who was well loved and well respected
