Alot of dignataries are now showing up to pay respects. McCain, Guiliani, Gorby, Karzai, etc.
Cspan has live coverage. Bush expected at 7 but could be earlier? He is then going to visit with Mrs. Reagan.
Guard changes about every half hour at .28 and .58 of the hour. One is going on right now.
Once you got there, how long did you have to wait until you were inside?
You have FR mail.
When he intends to jump out of a perfectly good airplane, along with members of the Army's Golden Knights parachute team. It will be somewhere near College Station. Maybe this time he'll land in the middle of Kyle Field? :)
So, where are you in line? Give us a holler when you are about to go inside, and what you're wearing, so maybe someone can get a screen-cap of your family in the rotunda...
Order of Service thread up now .... check it out, very thorough !!
Yes they are.
The man who dissed Reagan in life would be very mistaken to go to see him now in death.
Kerry can say nice things now, WE SHOULD NOT FORGET WHAT SINISTER THINGS HE SAID ABOUT REAGAN AND AT REAGAN DURING THE PRESIDENT'S LIFE.
What an amazing experience that must have been.
I can't make it to California or DC to pay my respects, but I'm fortunate to witness the outpour of love and respect for President Reagan. It is obvious that he truly had a great affect on the American people.
Likewise. His love for his country was a mirror of RR's love for America. This picture's a keeper.
Instead of a lone horse with backwards riding boots in the stirrups, they'll have a naked woman lying on a gynecologist's table with her feet in the stirrups.
Thanks. I'll go check it out and set the VCR.
Do you suppose Clinton will have a horse at his funeral, too? I suspect he doesn't even have a pair of boots. Perhaps they'll strap some flip-flops to the stirrups? Or platform shoes?
Which opens up a subject I was wondering about. Does the Secret Service remain on watch until the burial? Common sense says their job was done when President Reagan died, but I was wondering if one agent may stay on official duty to protect the remains of a President.
Just wondering....anyone know?
That would be an officer. The laced leggings are enlisted personnel. Had to check with my son to be sure.
"That's the difference between Bush and that pompous ass he's running against. Kerry's faux grief in Simi Valley was more than I could bear. "
I am not sure how Kerry got to the front of THAT line. Did he really hang out for 20 minutes? I agree with you on the faux grief, and he did not let that opportunity to slam Bush pass..he said he met more with Reagan than THIS president. creep.
Love the pictures with the cub scouts.
Don't they stay with Nancy?
Next question: will the rotunda be open all night, tonight?
For the second time this week, I am struck silent by this incredible expression of sadness and thankfulness. I doubt I will ever witness anything like this again while here on this Earth.
Democrats will hate that image because it does more than their NUANCED effort to say Reagan "contributed" to the end of the cold war.
That image of Walensa speaks to Reagan SLAYING COMMUNISM. This is the horror of the Democrats as they try to revive socialism that is dependent on Carteresque malaise and doubt.
It is important to note Reagan did not just end the cold war. You could have ended the cold war without ending communism. (by kerry democrats surrendering to the USSR for one) Reagan lead us to the END OF COMMUNISM (other than in american universities) in the world. THAT is why we sleep in a M.A.D. free world.
yes
Not surprising, it's full of stinky little Frenchmen and equally odoriferous Arabs and other north African Muslims.
