Poor Al (Franken apologizes for "ill-considered joke" about Hannity)

Liberal firebrand Al Franken was forced to apologize for an on-air quip ridiculing someone as a hermaphrodite during his radio show.
According to Bodies Like Ours, an intersex support group, Franken was insensitive when he said conservative talk show host Sean Hannity was born a hermaphroditic conjoined twin and the doctor who delivered him and his twin reacted in horror at their birth.
Following a flood on angry email, Franken apologized for furthering the unjustified stigma attached to these conditions. He said an estimated one in 2000 people are born with atypical genitalia, which, like conjoinment, is a naturally-occurring bodily variation.
I am sorry for the ill-considered joke, he said.

Following a flood on angry emailProving that the Err America audience is composed mostly of oversensitive freaks. They have a tiny audience, yet "hermaphroditic conjoined twin" provokes a FLOOD of nastygrams?

Al Franken gets plenty of press coverage, as his so called ;liberal radio network sputters and fails, he does the same. Al Franken thinks he is being funny, as he makes a media ass of himself. He is incapable of grasping this, and so his downward spiral will continue inevitably. George Soros can only prolong the humiliation and absurdity of Franken's public failure.

Following a flood on angry email, Franken apologized for furthering the unjustified stigma attached to these conditions. That's certainly NOT an apology to Sean.
To: sarasota
That doesn't sound like an apology to me. He wasn't apologizing to Hannity. He was apologizing for making a demeaning remark referrencing those that suffer from 'normally occurring body variations'.

Why would he even apologize? I thought all was fair in satire. Couldn't be a way to get publicity, hmm?
I just saw a History Channel show on the real Air America, true heroes. I'd love to know what them guys think of Franken and Co.
To: mhking
I hope Hannity and Rush et al; never mention his name on air - ever.

Franken is under the impression that merely by applying the epithet "liar" to someone, that this automatically makes it so. I have no idea how this dire, tedious man ever managed to find sufficient sparkle to be on Saturday Night Live.

This is problem #657 with liberal talk radio: You can't make jokes that somebody in the professional victim biz will take artificial offense to.

I'm not cut out for trolling. I haven't even tried to listen to Air America. I just went to a flea infested msg board where I post cartoons without comment and move on. I actually started reading their posts (they are still talking about prisoner abuse). I felt soiled so fast I had to go. It's not worth the bother. Typical DU style rot. Better to bask in the light.

or it could be halfassed and he's really apologizing to conjoined twins and not to Hannity. That's exactly what it is. He couldn't care less if Sean is offended, he was apologizing to conjoined twins and hermaphrodites. When you offend all three of your listeners, you'd better apologize.

"The real joke is to compare Franken's ratings with Hannity's. That is the real joke, Al."
That said, alfranken seems to have more than casual knowledge of this abnormality. . .

Apparently, Soros can't prop up the whole network. I'll bet they cut their losses late this summer and focus on Franken's show. Randi Rhodes quit and she's the only one with any experience.
To: sarasota
That doesn't sound like an apology to me. He's not apologizing to Hannity, just to the gender confused hermaphrodites.

Anthony Cumia (in his typical, sarcastic fashion, which unfortunately, is no longer heard on the WNEW airwaves.): Yuk, Yuk, Yuk. Why that certainly is a rib-tickler! You're almost as zany as that young upstart Rich Vos. Where do you get that priceless material from?

Franken is a soft target. The more he speaks on the radio, the more foolish he appears. The only one who would speak in his favour, I believe, is Col. David Hackworth who said Franken was a good man and should "keep up the good work" on the day I listened.

I hear that 50% of his radio audience were conjoined hermaphrodites. I think he's lost them now.

Following a flood on angry email I think we've identified another major market segment where Al is kicking Rush's tail.
The 24 - 55 year old hermorphadites.
