Anyone else think Dems are pushing the gas price issue so hard because they remember how much the energy crisis hurt Jimmy Carter?

The big difference now is that energy (at least oil) is free market. When Carter was president Gas was not available at any price. The government controlled the price so the oil men wouldn't sell if the price was too low. Today the worst that will happen is that it will get very expensive.

This is more evidence of the genius of Mr Reagan. BTW Ralph Nader predicted that the price of oil, due to deregulation, would hit $600 a barrel by 1990. What an economist.

I've noticed gas prices have started dropping in my area. Bad news for any Democrats pushing that issue.
