This brings back memories of my last year in college in 1981. A friend of mine at the time noted that Reagan's full name contained 6 letters each...Ronald Wilson Reagan, thus 666, thus the anti-christ. He was kidding of course, at least that is what I believed at the time. Maybe that stupid notion has stuck even in to the 21st century.

This is all consistent with the idiotic "Bush is Hitler" theme currently running in leftist circles. Have these morons ever read a book? Or even thought logically and rationally at least once in their lives?

This is outragous. Here my e-mail to them. I hope many other Freepers give them an ear full.

I would like to express my extreme disappoint over the article by Brandon Niemeyer about the now late President Reagan. Such hate mongering has no place in a college newspaper. The Daily Mississippian and the University of Mississippi should be ashamed.

As I read the column I remembered words used decades ago to challenge the hate-ladden tactics of Senator McCarty, "Sir, do you have no since of decency."

The state of Mississippi has come a long way from, its violent hate filled past. While the memories of the Klu Klux Klan are now only in our history books, Mr. Niemeyer's column seems to think such hateful ideas have a place in modern Mississippi. I believe that they do not.

To slander a man who has so recently past away as the "anti-Christ" is an insult to all those to believe in peaceful civil discord. No other mainstream publication, liberal, moderate, or conservative, has so demonized President Reagan. The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal have not publish such hate. Sadly, in Mississippi, or at least at the Daily Mississippi such hate is accepted.

I call on the dismissal of Mr. Niemeyer from the DM and a public apology by the DM.
