The older ones are probably celebrating that President Reagan is gone. All I heard for years every time Reagan's name came up was, "Iran-Contra." I never did think that Iran-Contra was a big deal. If it got the hostages freed, who cared? I personally think it was a pretty smart move.
Chales Krauthammer had the money quote on Brit Hume last night, talking about how discussing Iran Contra as if it mattered to Reagan's legacy was like starting FDR's obituary with "The man who interred the Japanese died today..."
The reason the Democrats hated it was that it was part of the process that helped bring about a free Nicaragua, in an election which made tham all look like fools for having sided with Castro's pet, Daniel Ortega.
