We can not go but I have asked my son to watch the services at 5 pm later today and he said he would. He is 11 and has already done reports on President Reagan. I am also tentative about keeping him home on Friday as I really want him to watch this history.

I would keep him home. This is an historic event, and he should see it in full, rather than in clips on newscasts.

Sometimes when debating about whether to keep the kid out of school for one thing or another, I'd ask myself: "What's she going to remember 30 years from now?"

Will it be watching President Reagans funeral with mom or that day in school? Much more likely the former I'd guess.

Looks like the motorcade is showing up.

Not to interfer with a Mother and her son, but please consider letting him stay home to watch. I still remember President Eisenhower's funeral on TV when I was 8. My Mom and Dad did me a great service by encouraging me to watch, ask questions, etc.

The memory is still quite vivid.
