I presume others are watching.
Nice other thread going on Nancy Reagan - extending a personal tribute... will be delivered to Reagan Library.
If you have a Methodist or Episcopalian hymnal lying around, you'll notice an odd little code. Sometimes it's just under the hymn title (in the older Methodist and the 1940 Episcopal) or in small print at the bottom of the page. The most common notations are SM (Short Metre, 66.86), CM (Common Metre, 86.86), CMD (Common Metre Duple, 86.86.D), and LM (Long Metre, 88.88).
It tells you how many syllables are in each line. E.g. SM: "All praise to thee O Lord/Who by thy mighty power/Didst manifest thy glory forth/In Cana's marriage hour", LM: "O wondrous type! O vision fair/Of glory that the saints may share/Which Christ upon the mountain shows/Where brighter than the sun he glows."
The Episcopal hymnal kindly gives a "Metrical Index of Tunes" so that you can fit words to any tune that matches. Useful for choirmasters (and if you get REALLY bored during the sermon.)
No, I think the Clintons' code names were Woodrow and Pantsuit.
Thanks, I had been searching to no avail. I think I'll pick up Ms. Noonan's book on my next bookstore run. Thank you for the recommendation.
By the way, "The Yellow Rose" is CMD, as are most of Emily Dickinson's poems.
Hopefully a few of their friends will be doing the same!
Reagan = Rawhide
George H.W. Bush = Timberwolf
Clinton = Eagle
Where are those rural folks? I didn't know it looked like that out near Pt. Mugu.
Drudge & Peggy are personal friends, that's not a weird find.
After she said she will be joining the throngs of people to file past his casket, it occurred to me that she will indeed be 'marching behind him at his funeral' with the rest of America.
Had Fox news on sattelite until I got fed up with one of the talking guests that started trashing Pres Bush and then went to MSNBC until Chris Matthews came back on with Lester Holt -- so I took my daughter out to lunch to get away from the talking morons passing themselves off as experts.

I went outside in the heat and bagged up clippings off a shrub I trimmed this morning. Got too hot, and now back inside, hoping the TV doesn't annoy me.
Oops, too late. Stem cell controversy between Laura and Nancy next up on Fox. HGTV until 4PM!!
Was told the same thing -- also F-15 has a wonderful flight record while the F-16 has had a lot of accidents where pilots have had to eject and planes lost.
great pic
