There is no pleasing these people. They will always find some excuse to nitpick and complain the conservatives don't do something right.

Each day this funeral goes on, the media and the democrats look worse and worse. No kidding! I am so touched by the outpouring of love and honor. And Nancy Reagan has shown herself to be a wonderful lady. God bless America.

The Carters were such hayseeds they practically prodded cattle through the White House hallways.

His guest also said the Carters had no idea how to use the White House socially and often appeared inept at it. Jimmuh was inept as a Chief Executive, so at least he was consistent.

All of these press people apparently think we were asleep in the 80's and missed their never-ending assault on President Reagan.
I am not buying their compliments, especially when they use them to attack President Bush.

On this occasion, I will withhold catty remarks about the appropriateness of birkenstocks! I thought I was the only one that noticed the inappropriate shoes she had on. Ok, I'll refrain too.

I've only heard it mentioned once but Maureen's widowed husband is there with the family, and with his fiance. I believe that they were seated in the second row at the Library the other day.
They were also at the library this morning. His fiance is blond and he appears to be rather tall.

Thanks for the link. I was off searching for it myself. I don't believe the Old Guard will be the only group represented among those escorting the casket.
Unless, of course, there are Sailors attached to the Army Unit for ceremonial duty...
Becasue those are definitely Sailors in the photo of the practice.

Today is going to be the warmest in several weeks. Summer really hasn't hit yet. I think we've had a day or two above 90. Yesterday was quite nice, in the upper 80s. It shouldn't be too bad this eve. Almost no chance of thunderstorms today. On warm summer days quite often we get late afternoon showers.

I am so grateful that she and President Reagan had the foresight to know that America would need time to accept his passing, and would want opportunity to honor him.Yes, that's right on.

The Carters were southern and all southern folks know how to entertain gracefully.
I think the Carters portrayal of themselves as just simple poor people was a silly affectation. Remember when Carter carried his own suitcase...empty.

Did Maureen have any children? The only grandkids I see appear to be Michaels two.
