Sen. Kerry gave a "Thumbs Up" at President Reagan's service today. This seems to me totally inappropriate. Just who is he giving the Thumbs Up to? Certainly anyone standing in line for 8 hours to pay their respects to the Gipper is not going to vote for Senator Liveshot! Maybe it was to get on the news?

"There's a difference between attending services of someone you know and even loved, and someone you met a few times 20 years ago and may not have even liked. Oh, I see. So if you attend the funeral service of someone who "you may not have even liked".......THEN it's OK to give a thumbs-up as the car is "rolling away". Thank you so very much for that response. You have positively proven my point.

Tell me. When is he allowed to show a thumbs up to the press. When he is in the service? In the car? Once the car is moving is it ok after it's rolled...
Dude, you need to give it up on this one. You know sKerry was outta line with the thumbs up and we know it.
Stop trying to separate the fly sh*t from the pepper and admit you are WRONG.
It's OK, we all make mistakes.

Should he have saluted?Technically, no. The only folks who salute in civilian clothes are the ones RETURNING salutes, (the President), from uniformed military personnel.
That is the technically correct answer, however former military personnel in civilian clothes, who recognize another in civilian clothes often render a salute as sign of respect, though there is no protocol for it.

I'd like to see that though! ;-}

Maybe he had a lapse and forgot which finger he was throwing up in the air?
To: Ciexyz
Doncha know that Clinton told Kerry to go to the library to see the coffin so it would hammer another nail in Kerry's?
It's all about Hillary in '08.

It wasn't appropriate at all. Not a the place he was. I'm old fashioned, too. From the old school.

You haven't answered MY question: When is he allowed to show a thumbs up to the press.
When he is in the service?
In the car?
After it's rolled 10 yards?
50 yards?
100 yards?
a quarter mile?
1/2 mile?
1 mile? 2 miles? 3? 5? 20?

I don't think it was all that outta line. You're the one trying to seperate fly sh** from pepper. We just disagree. It's fine to dislike the guy's politics. I lived in Mass 40+ years and I know what a walking egotistical communist he is. This is a mountain out of a molehill.

I was watching David Letterman the other night and as part of his show he ran a recent embarrassing video of Bush.

Aren't you ashamed not to have known that?
