Sen. Kerry gave a "Thumbs Up" at President Reagan's service today. This seems to me totally inappropriate. Just who is he giving the Thumbs Up to? Certainly anyone standing in line for 8 hours to pay their respects to the Gipper is not going to vote for Senator Liveshot! Maybe it was to get on the news?

I have never in my life seen anyone give a thumbs up at a funeral or viewing of a body.

No Howlin' you're right about that. But that's not part of the discussion I'm in. Mine is simply whether a thumbs up to the Press in a car (or SUV, anyone know for certain) after leaving a service is completely disrespectful or if it makes no diff at all (my opinion).

Really? So if I'm in a car 20 miles from Simi and flash a thumbs up to a reporter, that's wrong?

When he's no where near the property. In this case,
he shouldn't be thumbs-uping anywhere. Especially in
California & not in D.C. at week's end.

What is the deal with that? I could have sworn I saw in the guidelines for viewing that no cameras, camcorders, etc. were permitted. How did that cameraman get in?
To: Howlin
I've beaten a dead horse before here, you know that. No skin off my nose. Almost time to call it a night though. I'll resume flailing away in the morning. Have a good one.

"clinton has a procession in Washington, the horse probably won't pull the wagon...especially if it's a mare...she won't turn her back to clinton...that's for sure." Clinton's farewell parade will be Birkenstocks spread out wide on the back of an old El Camino, with a pair of pants opened on top of them, while the band played, "Hit Me, Baby, One More Time!"
To: the Deejay
Thank you deejay. At least you answered that part of the question. When he's left the property after the service, he can flash a thumbs up to the press.
And to reiterate my first point, he did not do it at the service itself as the headline implied. We should try to be more accurate.

You haven't answered MY question: When is he allowed to show a thumbs up to the press. I'll answer: At the conclusion of Kerry's first campaign appearance AFTER President Reagan has been properly BURIED.

I have no idea; I was watching live when all of a sudden the cameraman walked behind the people in the line, turned around, and aimed his camera over where Kerry was going to come out.
It is the ONLY time I saw ANY cameras in there.
