You know the picture we've been seeing for the last 18 hours, the one of the guards and the camera shot over the casket, with the people walking behind it?
Well, all of a sudden, here comes a VIDEO camera guy behind the people paying their respects.....he actually walked behind them near that wall with the etching on it.
He then proceeded to turn around, dragging his cords, and turn his camera back to where Kerry was, searching for him.
At no time since I have started watching has anything remotely close to that happened.
I could just puke.
The library just announced that 70,000 people have paid their respects!
If I were a service person there I would not be happy to have my face used in a Kerry photo-op.
Saying that less than a year ago, Kerry was using President Reagan as a symbol of everything evil. Fought against their tax cuts, their attempts to roll back civil rights, etc.
Thanks for that bit of worthwhile news. (I don't consider Kerry's grandstanding to be such.) When I went home for lunch today between 1:00-2:00pm, the people were still filing past at the same rate they have been all along. If it continues, the number of visitors will easily approach 100,000. Add that to all the people who lined the streets and freeway overpasses, plus all the people who briefly stopped their cars in respect as the motorcade passed, plus all the people who have sent emails, cards, etc., it looks like California is giving her favorite son a rousing send off.
