I'd sure like to think that Holt was appalled. You know we won't see it on the alphabet networks. I can't wait to see some of the columns written by conservatives tomorrow, though.

Bo Derek was there!

Thanks for this photo, I had no idea she had been there. I wonder if any other famous people came by.

This is going to hurt Kerry. How do we know? The media is not covering this or giving it very very very quick passing coverage.

Care to make a wager? This will be on ABC, CBS, and NBC evening news. Kerry knows that he had to appear at a certain time to make sure he made the shows. Watch Peter, Tom, and Dan lead with the story.

Traffic comes to a standstill as people as make their way to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi
Valley, Calif., to pay respects to former President Ronald Reagan Tuesday, June 8, 2004. By early Tuesday
morning, more than 17,000 people had come to the Reagan Library, waiting hours in line to pass by the
former president's coffin. (AP Photo/Nick Ut)

Hopefully this VIP list will become public, there's a lot of very un-Reaganesque hatred here that needs to be dished out it seems!

It is also telling that the democrats vowed never to be caught off guard by a Republican. This is why they are so fast off the trigger to tear down GWBush.

(BTW does this mean Clinton ignored kerry for 8 years and only Reagan showed teh poor gigolo boy any human kindness? Sounds like pitty)

So far on this thread you've refered to a sitting US senator and presumed presidential nominee as a "bastard" and to a fellow FReeper as "Dumbass." Is this the "high road" that you mentioned that Ronald Reagan would have us follow? Or do you just like to lecture us?

I nominate Barbara Bush. She's perfect for this.

Wouldn't you give your left n*t to see her backhand Kerry just once?

To be sure. I don't believe that any of them went other that to pay their respects.

GIVES THE THUMBS UP TO THE MEDIA? For what? because he was able to get in and dishonor the spirit of the event?

I liken this to his phony purple hearts - he wanted medals for a few months in battle in the same way he wanted his photo-op without spending his time in line.

"He came in with a separate cameraman."

Bringing the cameraman was in poor taste, but even mortal enemies can show respect to their deceased opponents by respectfully viewing/treating the body.

We need not duplicate the Democrats' massive mistake of booing Vice President Cheney when he showed his respect to the body of the late Senator Wellstone in Minnesota.

Shoot, half of those here criticizing Senator Kerry for going to see President Reagan's body would have been upset if he had boycotted the whole thing.

We don't need that level of hate. We have more class than that. Sen. Kerry went to see President Reagan. Leave it at that (though the cameraman thing is likely to raise some eyebrows elsewhere).
