25 or 30 FReepers stopped by, some for a moment, others for a while, then they would go get in line. Some came back several times for an iced teas or to meet others who were showing up.
We also had at least 100 other people stop by who asked what FR was about. Some stayed and we talked about RR and other thing for quite some time. Some people asked to use the rest room, others for a drink, some asked for cookies for their children.
We got lucky with the location. We didn't pick it, as when we entered the lot we just parked where they waved us to. However, we were near the area where people boarded the buses and the media truck area, not to mention the entrance to the college itself.
I imagine y'all gave the cookies for the kids with a smile :>).
Sometimes we get lucky in life when doing the right thing as far you finding a good location. Ya' think the media truck folks will wander over for an interview? Would be good promo for the organization. I think they're scared.
Betcha' RR would have liked FReepers to have been around on the net in the 80's for his causes and it would tie in well for some color with the media.
Anyway, you guys have some fun as much as possible for such an event. I don't think this country could ever forget Ronald Reagan. I know I won't.
May God Bless......
Beautiful. Proud To Be An American Traffic Jam.
Excpet for when diotima reached for my super secret stach of macadamia nut cookies!
Some of them wandered our way. Doug gave an interview or two and I gave one to LAWeekly (Can't wit to see how that get's mangled...heheh).
CNN showed up and interviewed a few people right in front of our RV. We walked out and asked them if they wanted to interview FReepers and they said "No Thanks" and walked away.
We were shocked, I tell you.
U R Wrong. RWR's body is still in Simi Valley.
Wow! FReepers are in the same league as Fox News. That is quite an accomplishment. :-)
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AND THANK YOU!
Here's the pictures from FReepers in Simi Valley.
He will tell his kids about it and they will say, "Dad, we are studying about President Reagan in our American History class".
"We were shocked, I tell you."
Great job FReepers! Wish I could be there, but I have to work. Took three days off this weekend to sign up voters at Raahaugee's Shooting Fair and the Orange Co. Crossroads of the West Gun Show for our own John Brantuk(Brantuk for Assembly.com)
Heard the news at the Shooting Fair right after it happened.
We missed you G, it's not the same when we get together and you're not there!
I'm sure Danny Glover must be cursing himself silly! Not because all these people (many of them STILL scandalized by the contra affair, no doubt) are waiting in line for 10 hours to view Ronald Reagan's casket, but because Glover missed the chance, unlike Kerry, to hijack Reagan's posthumous victory and resurrect a floundering movie career. Poor Danny. You're just not as quick as the other weasel (Kerry).
Great pics! Thanks for sharing them.
What a beautiful thought! Yes, that will be a memory for mother and son to share forever, well worth the loss of one night's sleep!
Bumpity, bump!
Please don't go putting "AAR" in the title. I thought you meant "Err America Radio". The horror, the horror...
Hehehe. Total horror.
Wonderful pics, dio.
Enjoyed all of 'em.
