Reagan family has arrived in Santa Monica to escort President Reagan's body to his library.
What a NOVEL idea!!!! Actually, it did occur to me after I posted the question. Kind of silly of me, huh? The only problem with this is that my husband has the TV rigged up some crazy way so that whenever I ask him to tape something for me (of if I want to tape something), he says, "Oh, it's not set up for that." So, if I want it taped, he'll have to do whatever has to be done in order to make that happen. That means it might not happen without a lot of persuasion and reminders.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions--especially to spend the day with my son. It's probably the right thing to do.
And to the person who said that your parents didn't go to your orientation--I don't believe mine did, either. And I'm guessing that my son would say he doesn't care if I go or not (he doesn't even want any recognition of his graduation from high school--homeschooled all the way through).
What would President Reagan want you to do?
LOL. I remember the night that the "Ellen is Coming Out" show aired, and my husband flipped over to it. I said, "Would Ronald Reagan want you to watch this?" And, he promptly flipped away from it.
Saturday night, we grilled steaks, and my husband wanted baked sweet potatoes instead of regular baked potatoes, because sweet potatoes are healthier. I kind of wanted a good old steak & potatoes (regular) dinner in honor of The Gipper, and I asked my husband, "Would Ronald Reagan have wanted Irish potatoes or sweet potatoes?"
The Irish potatoes were very tasty.
Thatcher, Gorbachev to Attend Reagan Funeral
VOA News
07 Jun 2004, 16:49 UTCFormer British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev are among the prominent figures planning to attend Friday's state funeral for Ronald Reagan at Washington's National Cathedral.
The former British leader has given up public speaking after a series of strokes, but will deliver a vidoetaped eulogy recorded several months before Mr. Reagan's death.
That is one thing I did get to do........LOL. It's the rest that's a bitch, you know? :-)
She considered Reagan a dear friend. I am not amazed. I think she really loved him, in a platonic way. God bless her.
What a stud!
One in a million. What a real giant!
I'm too cute to be a curmudgeon.
I heard that she decided to come after all. She is a brave lady.
.
WOW, to put herself in the middle of this funeral with so many people around and such.
I am impressed. I hope the Bush's let her stay at the White House : )

I *LOVE* this answer!!! Thank you!
Hey! What happened to my tagline? It's been replaced with "ue"! LOL! I must have erased it somehow. Maybe it's time for a new one...
Regards, Ivan
hence "pinks & greens"
Ivan, Missyou. I should have knows that the passing of the great Reagan would have you leave a few posts over here.
I pray for Mrs. Thatcher and as I said I hope she gets to stay at the White House this week.
Hello Ivan. Nice to see you!
I saw the interview and the SS agent was GREATLY choked up and had to apologize to the reporter! REAGAN was SOOOOOO LOVED by the SS agents that protected him and his family!
