Reagan family has arrived in Santa Monica to escort President Reagan's body to his library.
Oh God.
CNN just had to mention again that Patti used to fight with her father over abortion, etc. The media makes me so ill. I hope they pay. There is no reason to bring that up now. They are dispicable. Leave it to Judy Woodroof.
Nancy and Patty are so sweet together; I am so pleased their family has healed old wounds. It's all about family...Patty grew up.
Nancy laid her head on the casket.
The cameras need to shut OFF now.
Oh Geez ... My heart is breaking for Nancy ... she just hugged her Ronny good bye
Due to five-year-old, I am relying of freepers for info/pix.
She just had to lay her cheek on the casket, didn't she? It's just too much for me--
I just felt a very strong idea that the cameras should not be here right now.
I think this part with Nancy at the casket should be private!!!
oh dear.....She can't say goodbye..
sw
OH GOD!
I think she thinks this is "her" last time alone with him now that she's letting the public close.
The office TV was pre-set to ABC, and I flipped it on in time to hear Jennings say, "Of course, the military honors will follow, and nobody does military honors better than the military." Huh?
In reading the website on President Eisenhower's funeral, I was surprised to learn that he had the same coffin that enlisted men received. The cost was $80, and the only difference was that the family had paid an extra $115 for a glass seal. He was dressed in his WWII uniform, "pink" trousers and his famous Ike jacket. His uniform had only the following medals: Army Distinguished Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Navy Distinguished Service Medal, and the Legion of Merit.
I also hadn't realized that the Eisenhower's had lost a son just a little over 3 years of age.
I agree
One of President Reagan's famous quotes was (paraphrase):
The only ones fighting for abortion are those already born.
Go to C-SPAN. No commentary whatsoever.
I do, too.
We live within driving distance to DC and have family there to spend the night with -- would you take your five-yr-old to see the funeral procession? How 'bout a 3-yr-old?
