Two different stories: http://www.accessnorthga.com/news/ap_newfullstory.asp?ID=39628 and http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/6/6/214712.shtml
Which way to believe?
"Carter normally issues statements through the Carter Center in Atlanta, but as of Sunday the Center had not released any response. Carter told a handful of reporters gathered at the church Sunday that he would make no formal comment or answer questions after the service."
Carter did not issue a formal statement about Reagan's passing. He only offered some off-handed comments. This is not appropriate, but what can one expect of Carter?
I think he is too insignificant, to even bother with.
Have you ever heard Jimmah utter so much as a peep about his party's support for the murder of God's children in the wombs of their mothers?
I want to mourn the loss of our dear President Reagan without blowing a gasket at the rank hypocrisy of the lefties.
Don't worry. Most of the comments have actually been quite gracious. There are of course always a few exceptions
I violated my usually household ban on 60 minutes this evening and watched their program, they actually even did a decent tribute, much to my surprise.
Hey, I used to think the Jimmy was a good intentioned, but misguided Christian man. As an amatuer Carterologist, I am not so sure now. There are stories about how when he gets behind closed doors he bad mouths America and its citizens.
They aren't entirely dumb. By Reagan's popularity and his big election wins the public would see what finks they really are if they went negative.
This is like Mike Moore talking about President Bush. Carter and Moore are no different to me.
Zack, did you ever read this?:
Matthew 7:20-23 "Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'
This is Jimmy Carter. And I don't care how many houses for humanity he builds!!!
Clinton's only hope of a legacy is to be compared to the only other democratic president in my lifetime the above mentioned Jimmy Carter(D-pos)
He is a small man in so many ways. Can you imagine Pres. Reagan behaving like this if the roles were reversed? Neither can I.
Yes, I did, and as a Southern Baptist I couldn't disagree with him more. I'll go a long way, though, before I question God's salvation at work in another.
