I had errands to run, so have been offline. KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara is now covering it live. San Marcos Pass (Rte. 154) is gridlocked due to closure of 101. 101 closed remainder of today. What a traffic nightmare it's going to be. This weekend in Santa Maria is final day of Elks' Rodeo - the biggest event of the year, thousands of extra people in town, all leaving today.

Fire is about four air miles from Rancho Del Cielo. A lot of it hasn't burned since 1955, a lot of fuel there.

It's fairly windy here today in Santa Maria, temperature is 81 right now - this fire is going to be serious trouble.
