I'll need to listen to it. In Peggy Noonan's book "What I saw at the Revolution" she talks about Reagan complimenting her on writing such a great speech.
From the book:
Reagan says: "But it was wonderful. Where you there? Well, after the speech the original Pointe du Hoc fellows came up and told me how much they liked it... the Rangers recreated the climb up those cliffs, this fellow went up with them just as he had forty years ago, and he made it to the top with those kids. Boy, that was something."
"'Boy that was something.' That's how he talks, like a happy working-class American boy of the thirties."
That's the one book of hers I haven't read yet ... Thank you mentioning it .. I'll have to add it to my summer reading list
