Hollywood sources tell LA Weekly columnist Nikki Finke that former President Ronald Reagan's medical condition has suddenly worsened. Bears repeating:

Here's a new Bush campaign slogan....

Win one for the Gipper.

One of the things I am looking forward to is meeting President Reagan as we worship Jesus together in Heaven.

Do you live close enough that you would be able to go to the funeral or a memorial service?

That picture captures so well how vigorous and full of life the great man was once.

He is one of my favorite Presidents. He was a strong leader. God bless him.

I can't wish for him to remain. When he leaves the flesh, he will be himself again, and more.

The only thing I regret is that I wasn't old enough or mature enough to fully appreciate how good I had it with Reagan as president. And that regret is enough to make me cry now. There will never be another like him.

A dear, sweet man, and the greatest president of them all. He will be deeply missed, but think of how he blessed us all by living.

I just told my husband that I love President Reagan like a grandfather. My husband feels the same. Losing our Ronnie will be like losing one of our own relatives.

The press will not mourn his death, but will writhe in agony, knowing that millions of plain old normal decent Americans across the heartland will mourn the passing of this great president. As President Reagan is fondly remembered as our national grandfather (despite attempts to smear him by the usual suspects e.g. Katie Couric), Kerry by contrast, will appear as the shallow, smarmy, manipulative, unstable, narcissistic sick freak that he really is.

That would seem to be the last thing they would want during an election year.

God bless President Reagan.

Though he has of late been a tad unpopular with some here on FR, IMHO, Tom Clancy summed it up best with the dedication to one of his novels:

TO:

RONALD WILSON REAGAN

THE MAN WHO WON THE COLD WAR

Not too shabby a way to be remembered..
