Hollywood sources tell LA Weekly columnist Nikki Finke that former President Ronald Reagan's medical condition has suddenly worsened. "He really took a downslide today," the insider told Finke Friday evening. "Doctors are at the house. Things aren't good." At the start of the day, several news organizations chased down a rumor that the ex-president had died, but it wasn't true... Family members gathered at the Reagan's Bel Air home late Friday... Developing...

Is there enough room on Mt. Rushmore for Reagan?

Funny you should say that.
I've only had net access for 8 years and we got FoxNews about 2/12-3 years ago.
I found FR just shy of 3 years ago.
I'd never heard such vicious, vitriolic rhetoric before.

Have they always been like this?

I do recall "liberals" in the late 60s/early 70s scaring the bejeebers outta me.
[I was young then, 9-10]
We ran into a pack of draft-dodgers in a campground while we were on vacation in Canada in '69 and my dad had to walk me, my mom and my gramma to the restrooms for fear of our lives.

I knew they were generally crazy but since W got in, they seemed to have gone completely barking mad.

Fox News has been burned by reporting stories before verification a few months ago.

Looked all over the web and so far Drudge is still the only one reporting this. Notice that he hasn't added any new information since the original report almost five hours ago.

"One more sliver of evidence .. the democrats cannot be trusted with national security .. EVER!!"

I wouldn't trust them with minding my dogs, let alone my nation.

Imagine the Democrats who will be using the opportunty as a photo-op. The french candidate should show respect and stay away.

I don't believe you could keep former presidents out of the event. (which is disgusting considering carter personally travelled to the USSR seeking help to bolster Mondales election changes.)

If anything it may just be a demonstration of contrast to show how dwarfing their politics of "symbolism over substance" are totally eclisped by Ronald Reagans talking the talk and walking the walk. It will not be a welstone fiasco for sure.

What a sad day this is for all true Americans. Reagan might have been the greatest President in history. His decisive action brought about many great things from the rescue of the Iranian Hostages to the falling of the Berlin Wall. His policies brought about the end of the Cold War and shattered the evil Communist empire. This was a true man of God who brought the honor and dignity back to America that was lost in the horrible Carter years. Also you might recall that he was the first President to take on terrorists and rendered Lybia impotent. This great work was carried on by Bush I and is now being carried out again after an 8 year absence by our current President George W. Bush. Thank God we have a man who can hold up to the great standard that Reagan set in the 80's unlike the previous hedonistic administration. Though he has yet to pass I want to express my condolences to the great man and his family. We owe so much to him, let's never forget. My flag is at half mast.

I recall Willy's first win.
That election night was one of the bleakest evenings of my life.

I wore all black the day after that election. I saw other people around town doing the same and suspected it was for the same reason.

I don't want this to come out wrong, but if there was an announcement about President Reagan, this would be a place for it. This is a news conference and the press may ask about it after they're done.
CSPAN isn't showing the conference. MSNBC usually stays with these things longer than CNN or FNC.

Yeah.
That one's a modern classic.
Gives a new twist to the phrase "SOB story".

"Bummer, but when you are in that bad of shape, the end is a good thing. Thoughts and prayers to the family."

This is true. When my father was terminally ill, I was almost glad when he finally went because I really hated to see him so weak. Luckily, the liver cancer only weakened him until he had finally withered and was less painful as far as cancers go. I think about him a lot still.

It was the longest 8 years of my life.
I thought it would never end.
I avoided "addresses" or "press conferences" like the plague.
In contrast, the last 3 years have flown by.

For about the ten millionth time, would the media please stop asking stupid questions. I think they should make a rule that when a reporter asks one, a buzzer would go off and they have to leave the room, their silly question unanswered.

Amen!

Kerry scares me. The guy isn't wired up properly. If I think too much about a Kerry Presidency, I'm afraid I'll break out in a cold sweat and my blood pressure, which is low, will spike.
