Hollywood sources tell LA Weekly columnist Nikki Finke that former President Ronald Reagan's medical condition has suddenly worsened. "He really took a downslide today," the insider told Finke Friday evening. "Doctors are at the house. Things aren't good." At the start of the day, several news organizations chased down a rumor that the ex-president had died, but it wasn't true... Family members gathered at the Reagan's Bel Air home late Friday... Developing...

Your Welcome, I'm off to bed, and will be on bended knee praying for the "Gipper" and Nancy, as well as Michael, Ron, and Patti Reagan. They need our prayers right now!

Mr Reagan quietly destroyed the USSR at Reykjavik

He was always mis-underestimated by his enemies, too!

"He gave us and our children a better world..."

Very true. He also made a better world for Russia children, East German children, Polish children, etc.."

President Reagan is a great man.

" I actually love that man and I'm not someone who "loves" people I don't know personally. "

Took the words right out of my mouth .

"He's the reason I changed parties back in the early 80s. "

He was the reason I voted for the very first time back in 1980 . I even volunteered to work for his campaign ( via Suffolk County LI Republican Committee ) . I'll never forget election night 1980 as long as I live .

As the our Brit friends like to say , he was a " one off " . They'll never be another like him . One of the greatest Americans , and THE greatest President this country has seen or ever will see .

Amen.

I'm 18 years old, and while I truly didn't experience President Reagan's presidency, I can say he has been a role model for me despite my age. For one, my family were in the Solidarity movement in Poland. My dad was in jail for a year under martial law (there's your tolerant liberals!) and thanks to President Reagan, my parents and my family were able to move to America as he granted my family amnesty. Otherwise, I'm sure I wouldn't be here today since the commies threatened my family's lives on many occasions, including busting inside my family's apartment in the middle of winter with machine guns to arrest my father. Anyway, a few years after my parents moved to America, I was born.

Today, I am a follower of President Reagan through reading his books, watching documentaries, etc. Truly, President Reagan's influence will live on as long as we remember his love for country and freedom.

May God watch over him and his family.

From one of his State of the Union speeches:

"Tonight I have spoken of great plans and great dreams. They are dreams we can make come true. Two hundred years of American history should have taught us that nothing is impossible."

Thanks for the (bracing) ping, S.A.

It will be a sad day indeed, with scarcely a man to fill his shoes either now or on the distant horizon.

It is with soft and gentle tears (from reading 390+ posts) that I pen these words.

President Regan's potential passing strengthens my resolve to not only to fight for that vision of the "City on the Hill," but to live it, personally, every day.

I offer my silent prayer for you "Grand-Father," and for your family as they await your rising on the wings of angels.

Godspeed! Know that a grateful citizen of a grateful nation thanks you for your service, your dreams, and your hope!

You know, many years ago in one of the four wars in my lifetime, an admiral stood on the bridge of a carrier watching the planes take off and out into the darkness, bent on a night combat mission, and then found himself asking with no one there to answer, just himself, to hear his own voice, he said, ``Where do we find such men?'' A decade or so ago, after spending an evening with the first returning POW's from Vietnam, Nancy and I found ourselves -- as the evening ended, having heard the stories of horror and brutality by men who had been confined as prisoners of war longer than any other fighting men in America's history -- found ourselves asking that same question, ``Where do we find such men?'' We find them where we've always found them when we need them. We find them where we found you -- on the main streets and the farms of America.

You are the product of the freest, the fairest, the most generous and humane society that has ever been created by man. God bless you all, and thank you. Thank you very much.

America will lose one if it's best patriots with the passing of President Ronald Reagan

President Reagan sent me a personal letter in 1983 in response to a letter I sent him. It is the material thing I value most in this world. He took time from being President to write to a mutt like me.

There is no better or more honorable man on the planet. When he is gone, the world will be a lesser place and I will be one sad individual.

Godspeed .
