Rush mentioned this late in his show today....noted how you could vacuum a child from the womb at any time, but once the kid is born, and in this school, they can't have cupcakes on their birthday.
``It would be 23 times during the year that other families would not be anticipating that their kids are going to be eating something sweet,'' Chandler Principal Deborah Zetterberg said.
Heavens me! Perish the thought
Who are these moron parents who feed their kids such a fragile diet that eating an extra cupcake once every two weeks would blow it all to hell?
Also makes you wonder why those parents can't just tell their kids "don't eat the cupcake". Or, tell the teacher, "don't let my kid have a cupcake".
Was the school force-feeding the cupcakes to the kids, previously?
Thus, the March on Fattening Foods continues. Or would that be a "Putsch"?
This makes as much sense as the Catholic Church stance on artificial birth control.
"Idiots in Massachusetts. Anyone suprised?"
Not in the least...
How long before the Publisk Skools close, because they have NO STUDENTS?
Thank heavens (and God Almighty, now that I think of it) my daughter is graduating HS in about 2 1/2 weeks. We managed to dodge the current insanity, thanks to the Salvation Army, Catholic Schools, and a fine Public School system. Many others are not, and will not be, so lucky!
I bet the faculty lounge is full of indulgences for the middle aged chocholics (like me) who work there.
I lived in a small town in western Massachusetts from 1986 to 1994. Our local preschool outlawed cupcakes, candy, everything but tofu, I swear. Eventually you couldnt do birthdays at all..since what about the kids whose birthdays were in the *summer* (gasp!!) We couldnt do Valentines Day (a Christian holiday, you know), Christmas, nothing. Not much we could do..it was the only game in town; the director was a socialist. It was a good lesson for my kids even when they were small that some people and rules are just lame.
I couldnt WAIT to move. The PC-ness was overpowering. And funny..most of them were trust funders, white, democrats, bigots, and snobs. My town voted for Jesse Jackson in the 88 primary. These same people locked their doors in horror and clustered in nervous groups when the Jamaican farm workers came in the fall to help with the apple harvest. I think there were four of us Republicans..we had a secret handshake and met in the dark of night >;-> Whew!
Tony Lake lived in the next town over and his wife was the biggest bigot I had ever known. She oozed noblesse oblige and was a classic limosuine liberal. Bleah!
Do they go to Planned Cupcakehood to get their unplanned cupcakes "taken care of?"
