Washington, DCRNC Chairman Ed Gillespie issued the following comment on George Soros statement today that he does not equate the abuse in Abu Ghraib with the terror attacks of September 11.
"John Kerry forgot he voted for the Patriot Act and No Child Left Behind. Al Gore forgot he was Vice President when Osama Bin Laden declared war on the United States five separate times and when terrorists killed Americans. Now George Soros can't remember what he said yesterday," said RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie.
A transcript of Soros comments yesterday and audio of his comments is included below: Audio Link: http://media1.streamtoyou.com/rnc/Soros-AbuGhraib-6-3-04-112secs.mp3
And I think that the picture of torture in the Abu Ghraib, in Saddams prison, was the moment of truth for us, because this is not what this nation stands for. I think that those pictures hit us the same way as the terrorist attack itself. Not quite with the same force because the terrorist attack we were the victims.
In the pictures we were the perpetrators, others were the victims. But there is, Im afraid, a direct connection between those two events, because the way President Bush conducted the war on terror, converted us from victims into perpetrators.
This is a very tough thing to say, but the fact is, that the war on terror as conducted by this administration, has claimed more innocent victims that the original attack itself.
As did the Nazi's in WWII, however this contemporary loss of "bearings" is a battle not required of a fight.
Soros bump. The more people know who Soros is, the more he himself becomes an issue in this campaign, which he should be. Dims love to whine about money corrupting the American political process, and yet they are the most egregious offenders.
True.
Great audio clip! Does anyone know how to archive it?
What's Soro's "this nation," comment ? Is he suddenly a US citizen ?
Never forget who brought him to the meeting, and who introduced him!
Hillary Clinton
Soros is part and parcel of her financial strategy to take the Presidency in 2008.
screw soros....him and his accent
When I heard his comments on Rush today I could not believe what I was hearing. I wonder how much film, sound, and data of Hillary has been destroyed since yesterday?
It made me sick to listen to the audience applaud that bum.
I've been wondering about his status...........anyone know if he is a citizen or even has applied for citizenship?
These actions and comments merely prove that we don't want Democrats running this nation if we want to keep a nation.
Why on earth would anyone vote in a Hate America First candidate for any job in the American government?
And it took her long enough to kinda, sorta disavow Soros' comments, didn't it?
I heard the audio of his original statements on tape.
He sounded pretty tentative then, like someone who knows he's already skating on thin ice.
The truth is that he can simply return to the shadows and shut up. His power is his money and his surrogates, not his oratory.
I suspect that he will bear this in mind and return to his place behind the leftist thrones.
Remember that Soros is an ally only to those who can bring him more money and power. For now, that is the Socialists, but that is subject to change.
Do not be surprised if he "gets religion", should that profit him more. He is a robber baron in the classic sense.
She had to wait until the check cleared.
Be sure that Soros get lots of coverage! Make sure he gets his messager out!
He holds dual-citizenship, with a South-American country, I believe Columbia. However, he appears to have been living in Europe for several years now.
Soros is nothing but a egotistical elistist-another funeral I wouldn't shed a tear at. He is an enemy of this country.
Thank you for the information.
I don't have that much problem with the dual citizenship, the living in Europe and doing what he is trying to do with U.S. elections is where my problem arises.
BUMP!
P.S. There are plenty of entire *nations* that hate and despise Soros (for destroying their currencies, e.g.). Surely one of these countries has a wealthy citizen or two to kick in some funds to combat Soros?
