It would be nice to replace the Richmond Mayor and City Council with nothing and let individuals make decisions about thier own lives.

So let me get this Dems "logic" straight...if we let the people of Richmond actually VOTE for the mayor, we're dilluting their voting strength? What strength do they have now? They vote for the city council, one member per district, and then the council votes for the mayor.

So what's so bad about allowing the people to vote for the mayor, unless you think that the people in "certain" districts don't vote in the same numbers as the people in "other" districts and thus those "other" people will be able to control the mayoral election.

Well, too bad. Get "your" people to vote then.
