Labs are terrific. I currently have a 14 1/2-year-old German Wirehared Pointer, a tiny 14-pound mixed terrier I rescued in 1998, and a shy-with-everyone-but-me Pit Bull I rescued in 2000. Plus a cat named (but of course) Kitty.

I miss my huge coon hound, Cassie, whom I had to have put to sleep in January, due to cancer.

I now have 3 cats (one mine, 2 I inherited from my daughter, whose husband is allergic).

I am missing a dog, but I think I will wait yet awhile as I am busy in the garden and don't want to start training another dog until fall.

We have three labs, two cats, and two guinea pigs. The doggie training lady has a new litter of kitties so we may be adding a little calico to our herd, too. :-)
