That would be a major outing of CIA employees. Valerie Plame issues you know. Maybe they are all wearing sunglasses.

Oh ok

Well it was a video play back and no they didn't view the audience

He sounds very sincere; who could take this crap forever.

Just heard his speech and I agree, he sounds very sincere. He also sounds to me like he doesn't really want to resign, though. I wish we knew exactly why he did this.

O'Neill and Tenet, is that it?

I refuse to count Richard Clarke. :-)

CIA Director resigns... President hires a lawyer

You have your facts wrong.

THe President did NOT hire a lawyer. Can you back up that assertion?

The fact is that President Bush has consulted an outside lawyer in case he needs to retain him.

It looks like George Tenet woke up one morning, looked into his kid's eyes and realized he had missed years of his child's life.....

I've seen that look, and it can change how you feel about things....

I guess the anti-American DUmbass leftists are quite disappointed right about now.

Do you want to count only cabinet level, or all of the administration?

Good soldier Tenet, resigning at this particular time, is the very best thing he could do for George Bush. I hope it's the best thing for the CIA too.

Think of the failures: Contract hires for the Iraqi prisons and the prison abuses, Joe Wilson's wife, no found WMDs, Powell going before UN with flawed intell, AND perhaps worst of all, Chalabi. Maybe no Director could have done better, but doing worse is hard to imagine.

"Perhaps you don't recall the huge 'leak' problems during previous presidential administrations...Those have been remarkably few during the past 3 years."

Yea, I remember how efficiently the Sink Emporer's self aggrandizing "leaks" -- helpful to Its latest cause and/or pecadillo -- seemed to always pop-up at the darnedest times.
Leaks certain to redirect everyone's attention to something else not even -- remotely -- germane to the subject?

Even *stranger* was how it was always an "un-named source" who the quisling mediots granted total & complete credibity, almost as if the "information" had come from His very own lips.

"The Old Mediots have even complained about how closed and secretive this administration is."

Well the very same Old-New Mediot-Morons used to give their phoney, contrived *phenonenon* names, don't forget!!
Recall if you will "innoculation" or "trial balloon," for example?

How could anyone forget.

Yes, for Dubya there's only sighs, raised eyebrows & looks of skepticism by those same Old-New Mediot-Moron quislings, eh?

Difference is: Clinoccio's "leaks" were deliberate lies and/or misinformation, designed solely to sway a gullible public's opin in his favor, naturally.
(~& when that didn't work, a trusty ol' poll favorable to him followed soon after?)

While on the other hand, the present administration's yet to be "helped" in any way whatsoever -- that I know of -- by any of the mysterious "leaks".

If you know of any that've helped Dubya & Co, pray-tell.
I'd love to be enlightened.

"Surely you've seen that criticism?"

Oh sure, and I've always considered the source, too.

"(If not - go look at DU again...you'll find those.)"

Ummmm, no thanks my friend.
Had I not heard "the news" already, I'd have taken your word for it.

...& thanks for the memories. {g}

Thanks, Howlin. I have to admit I went wobbly today when I heard this. My local news reported it as "The Bush Whitehouse is under seige. This could bring down the Bush presidency" I don't know who the hell they were quoting, but it sounded dire and over for W> I should have known better. It's going to be a long, long summer!
