Of course he will. you will see Tenet and Bemer come out strongly against the administration. They hae been planning this a long time. It will be the plame leaks, Chalabi, Bremer and Tenet all summer. capped off with the 911 report. Bushg was a fool to trust any Democrat. It will not be pretty. Hope it does not cost the election. Of course it will. This makes Bush 41's 'No New Taxes' tax-increase faux paus look like a mere inadvertant belch by comparison.

"that's is correct. way too many optimists on this thread - this is a serious negative development for Bush, 150 days from the election."
The timing is actually pretty good - the election is still a long way off in terms of news cycles . . . UNLESS the resignation is prompted by messy realities regarding Plame, Chalabi, etc., which could linger deep into the election cycle, and which the media - ever searching for a new Watergate - will exploit to the max.

Chris Wallace on Fox saying this appears to be a case of "there is no story behind the story and this truly is what is being stated: He is leaving for personal reasons".
He says this is not "George Bush's way" to force Tenet out at this time or in this way, so it does seem to be Tenet resigning on his own.

I smell a FORCED resignation here, don't think this was a good move! They should have kept him around a little while longer until the election. Too many ex-employees writing books about W, BUT a Tenet MOAB books can hurt W BIG TIME in November! This guy is NOT to be trusted. He'll probably hit all the networks by next Sunday and will have a TELL ALL book by Oct.! My gut feeling tells me this resignation by Tenet is going to get REAL nasty. W's face expression this morn said it all!

Don't hold your breath!!! The Lib news media outlets (Traitorous ba$tards) are going to play with this for at least the next couple of weeks......"the sky is falling on Bush" will be their focus!!

Nonsense. They have tried all that to little effect. Tenet is not going to put the knife in. Ex-DCIA are not known for that kind of behavior.

You don't think he's been working for Comrade John F'n Kerry already?
Well, since I'm on another thread talking about talk radio, I'll bet that Rush does another, "Clinton makes a phone call," with Tenet on the receiving end:
"Hey, hiya, George! Hey, look, listen, pal. We've just about thrown everything we could at this Bush fella and nothing will stick. So, I need you to step down. Now, this will give us another talking point that we can use against Bush so we can call him, "Too busy filling his cabinet to successfully run a war," and try to get him down in the polls. Now, George, you're gonna do this for me and the party because, well, just ask ol' Bob Toricelli why you should do this. Heh-heh."

FNC said that Tenet had wanted to leave for a while but the administration urged him to stay.
You're one of the few who agree with me - Tenet will be loyal to the president and country. Given the president's father's background with the CIA, I think there is loyalty on all sides in this issue.

Are you saying that Bush is the target of that investigation?
Are you even hinting at it?
If so, I'd say you are here to bring down this administration.
What a bunch of hogwash.

With tongue in cheek, seriously though: Bush would appear bipartisan, and she would have to keep quiet (HA!). never going to happen
