Off-duty deputy having a beer videotaped

BUNNELL -- A videotape submitted anonymously to a local television station shows the Flagler County sheriff's chief deputy drinking alcohol off duty in a public park where drinking is prohibited.
Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debra Johnson said Wednesday the 90-minute tape showed Mark Maronski in civilian clothes drinking one beer at the Flagler County Fairgrounds with other adults after an adult softball game and driving home in his personal vehicle.
She acknowledged the park doesn't allow drinking.
The official Sheriff's Office response was short and direct:
"Sheriff Manfre has counseled his personnel concerning appropriate off-duty behavior. At this time we are concerned about the mental well-being of this person in our county who is apparently trying to secretly videotape activities at the county recreational areas."

The whole threat to freedom seems to be the do-gooders.
Can you believe that Pat Robertson wants tobacco out-lawed?
I watched the 700 Club 2 weeks ago and he was saying that tobacco needs culled in time, and that tobacco growers need moved into other crops.
But was he smoking???
This videotaper seems like an obsessive-compulsive voyeur.

I bet it's a personal spat between the deputy and someone such as an ex-girlfriend, ex-wife etc.
I enjoy beer and I will be mad if some Carrie A. Nation type tries to stop me from quaffing it as a pleasure.

I'm shocked! He wasn't a Rosco Coltrane in cahoots with Boss Hogg. A cop drinking beer off-duty in a park? Oh gee, I wonder what the penalty would have been if he smoked a cigarette there...

Or someone who hates cops or authorities or someone who has a personal beef (maybe arrested once himself for drinking a beer in the Park).
I never have my beers videotaped. They never do anything interesting.
It would depend on whether or not he was allowed to smoke cigarettes to begin with.
Many accredited LEO outfits do not allow smoking by their staff.
America has gone MADD (read Prohibition II), and I imagine their leaders are getting soused somewhere, toasting their own success.
That is very possible.
This whole thing sounds petty, doesn't it?
And then he passed gas in public!
Prohibition has been coming back steadily since about 1978.
