"you have no hesitation in lying either."

That is something I do not indulge in. If you know otherwise, that would give you some kind of mystical powers.

Bush Regime >>

Go wash your filthy mouth out with soap.

Treason often hides behind tradition.

"The Bush Regime is more interested in doing things for political gains..."

No sober, rational adult would label the Bush Administration as a "regime," and to do so reveals either that you are uneducated, unsober, or a partisan activist.

I am firmly against the war and I have no hesitation admitting it.

You're against fighting Al Qaeda? What kind of loon are you?

People like you and the other warmongers (sinky, et al) are the reason we will end up under a totalitarian regime one day.

You bet I have an agenda...my agenda is those who will stoop at anything to undermine the morale of our troops or the resolve of our people to support those troops. I guess that would include you and your Constipation Party...and your make believe brother who is on his third or fourth tour even though he moans about what's happening. If he's real he must be as stupid as you.

My guess is that RaginCajunTard is all three

The meat of the column is in the bottom.

Being lost in Afghanistan transcends politics and is a long-term American burden.

Perhaps Novak and other conservatives like him are going off the deep end when they keep harping on "how we're doing" in this or that front in the so-called WoT. It doesn't matter how well our forces are doing, the mission's the same. Apparently even this Kerry dude can't offer much in the way of an alternative strategy. Novak is griping about perceptions (which can't be changed, sorry) and the problem that the military is still bureaucratic and resistant to change, despite the best efforts of Bush administration celebs like Rumsfeld.

Some of this nation building b/s.

Novak is saying that we are not doing enough to nation build in Afghanistan. You take the opposite approach, that we have just removed the Taliban and left.

You and Novak are both wrong. Hey, at least Novak makes money at it.

I have had enough fun baiting you folks today. It's off to hit some golf balls. As McLaughlin would say, "Bye Bye!"

No people like them are the reason you can spout such BS today in English and not German.

Not at all. He is in the Rangers, but I do not know what unit.

I smell BS. I don't know a single person with a close relative, *especially* a "younger brother", in a warzone who doesn't know *EXACTLY* what unit they're in, if for no other reason than to be able to track news reports to see whether their relative is involved, and to be on alert for reports such as, "members of unit XX were killed/injured/engaged in heavy fighting today..."

It would be like having a brother who was a professional major-league baseball player but "not knowing" what team they played for, and having no curiosity whether the teams in the playoffs might or might not include his brother's team.

Well it won't be because "brave souls" like yourself stood up, will it?

I think you crave attention, you sure have found it.

Having fun yet?

Yes, you would do well to go play with some golf balls. At least then you will be dealing with something that is your intellectual equal.

"This bleak picture goes unreported because journalists are rarely seen there. ...

Afghanistan constitutes George W. Bush's clearest victory since the terrorist attacks of 9/11. The Taliban regime has been overthrown, eliminating al-Qaida's most important base."

Afghanistan has a new Constitution in place, a representative democracy in place, scheduled elections, and its American-trained *domestic* Army now numbers some 17,000...with 13,000 more scheduled to complete their training by the end of Summer (a force that is *more* than a match for any Taliban remnants who may still harbor delusions of granduer).

Even the old lefty propaganda of Afghanistan only being secure in Kabul has been roundly discredited. Afghan's own forces freely patrol every square mile of that country, with only minor skirmishes reported in the most remote of regions.

More hospitals, schools, and electricity are available to Afghans now that at any other time in their history.

Oh yeah, some "bleak picture."

Oh... Hallucinations, then.

If you know otherwise, that would give you some kind of mystical powers.

It takes no "mystical powers" to recognize a clumsy liar.

"If U.S. forces were to leave, the Taliban -- or something like it -- would regain power."

Who said anything about leaving? We still have troops in Germany, Japan, and Korea 50 years after those wars were over.

Why would Afghanistan be any different?

I think he means that the picture is bleak for those who would like to see the War on Terror fail, for their own political gain.
