What new voters are you attracting ? Are you saying it does not matter what they believe as long as they register "R" ?

And that assumption of yours speaks volumes. The right wing could grow larger by selling our values to folks on the left. It would be even easier to sell our ideas to folks in the middle who already believe 60, 70, 80% of what we do. You know those folks... the ones you guys completely despise as "RINO's". That's where we get new conservatives from... they'll be too busy to listen to our ideas, though, if they have to wipe the foam from their faces that our rabid brethren are spitting at them. Some "true conservatives" seem to believe that moderates are even more evil than hard-leftists... let's have a little perspective, please, especially since we'll always be struggling to push our agenda forward as long as we just stay a minority.

Yet another strawman argument. Anyone who holds positions and is willing to debate them and think about them logically is welcome to do so. We think our positions are the strongest and should win over those disposed to consider all arguments. What we call RINOs are politicians who say one thing at home to the constituents and the media to secure their reelection, and then discard those "positions" (it's hard to call them positions when they're written on tissue paper...) as soon as they can after returning to their true home, Washington. I've said many times, I'd much rather have an honest person who disagrees with me than a liar who is "amening" me all the time.

As I go through this thread the only rabid foam I see being spit is from the "for the party" people.

Tamsey, did you read my analogy above ? After 358 posts have you people not realized that we are not PUSHING Hoeffel's agenda ? Can't you people look past the PARTY ??? Is party majority your first and only objective ?

I think it is time to end this whole thread because any discussion is returned with condescending and immature remarks.

The man that you are promoting as a good republican for the senate is at 43%. That's a LIBERAL. 50% and 60% is a RINO.

When someone is 70% or 80% in agreement, I will likely support or at least tolerate them (depending on what the 20% or 30% actually is), but I wouldn't necessarily consider them a RINO.

The difference is that I acknowledge that the socialist scumbag that I'm voting for is a socialist scumbag. Specter agrees with him more than Specter agrees with us. I'm not trying to kid myself that Hoeffel is a republican or our friend. I know what I'll get from him. You are deluding yourself (and that's your right) and trying to delude others into believing that Specter is something that he is not. That's wrong.
