Hello everyone,
I thought I would post to give you all an update on my mother, and to thank everyone again for your kind thoughts and prayers. My Mom has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the cancer has already spread and tumors have replaced most of the normal tissue in the liver,it has also spread to the lymph nodes, and the doctors are concerned it has also spread to the wall of her stomach and possibly her kidneys. But there is some good news, she has a very rare form of pancreatic cancer called endocrine cancer which means she has several months left, and not just a few weeks. This type of cancer is only about 1-3% of all diagnosed cases. She was very swollen due to kidney problems, but the doctors seem to have a grip on that, as she was starting to get back to her normal size. Her doctor has said at this late stage there is very little that can be done, other than pallitive surgery to bypass ducts as they become blocked. If she had exocrine cancer (97-99% of all diagnosed) her days would be very numbered, as that is a very fast moving type of cancer. She is in very little pain right now (Thank you Lord) and her spirits are good. I told her about all you great folks down south praying for her and that brought a smile to her face (thank you all). It is really tough as my Mom and Dad live about 700 miles away, and I run a small business. We were able to spend several days with her last week, and we are returning again in two weeks. I am so thankful we have time left to say all the things that need to be said.
Thank you again to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers.
God Bless.

God Bless
I missed the prayer request before, but I will pray that your mom will be able to live well and painfree and for months of love and support from her family.
But I will also pray God's will for healing.
I will pray for your mother also.
I was heartened by your gratitude and the thanks you extended to all of the great people at FR. Tell your mom that there are people in New York praying for her.
I know, it's not too far South, but you get the idea.
It takes real guts to share your grief with others, but I'm glad you chose to share this experience with us. Hopefully, the last days spent with her will be something to cherish and remember as you forge on into the unknown.
-God bless, Gerard
God bless you, Greg. I pray your mother knows Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Then, you all could rest assured that she will spend eternity in Heaven with God the Father, with Jesus Christ the Son, and with God's Holy Spirit; and, with all the brothers and sisters in Jesus.
LOrd Give Gregs mom more time,
In Jesus name
Amen
May God Bless you and your mother, during this time. My son-in-law died three years ago with pancreatic cancer. He was only 29 years old when he was diagnosed. He went to MD Anderson and came home with more despair when they told him there was nothing that could be done for him and that at best he had about four months to live.. His cancer was advanced to the point that he was not eligible for any experimental chemotherapy. Bill made a decision that day that, he was going to do everything that he could to extend his life. He knew he had one thing on his side and that was his faith in God. Bill lived the next 18 months never giving up hope. He died during Holy Week and was buried the Saturday before Easter Sunday. He left behind two small boys, who remind me often of what a wonderful dad they had. One day the 9 year old asked me, "Mimi, is my daddy going to die?" I froze momentarily, then told him that I knew that his dad did not want to die and that he knew that God loved him. The little ones did not know that he was going to die, because Bill did not want them to lay awake nights, worrying about him.
I take comfort that I can help take care of these two small boys and can see the goodness that Bill instiled in them.
I pray that you and your mother can spend as much quality time together and that God will give you both all of the support that you need. I know that Bill gained much from the time that he had after learning of his diagnosis. I know that it was prayer that allowed us to have the additional 16 months longer than the Doctors had given him.
God Bless you and your family. I will keep you and your mother in my prayers.
